Or a partner for other projects?

Do you see significant results from working with them?

My latest post is about the importance of this dynamic.

Is tae bo still going? I thought the latest fad was the Zumba

I can't give up my Tae Bo!
  2. trailofpen
Yeah, my left arm and right arm.

The spiders in my basement as the aerobics video runs.

It takes them a little longer than it does me, though, because they have to workout eight legs.

    trailofpen cracked me up.

Yes my teenage son is hella strict on me.

"Mom time to go the gym" and he makes sure I do my abs when I get there.

That's great. Core muscles are the most important to work out (although often the most painful).

Me? Working out? Have you gone mad?

My kids take turns to sit on my legs when I do crunches and that works really well. I prefer running alone though. That's my 'me-time' and I don't think I'd want a parter even though I know I would run faster and longer with someone to spur me on.

I work out alone in the gym. At first i was reluctant to join the gym as I was very shy of my weight but my husband gave me the encouragement and now I dont regret cos I feel a whole lot better. No one laughed or made fun of my size as i assumed. The instructors are all friendly and willing to help. Thanks to my hubby.

I actually don't like working out with other people because I really like going at my own pace.

I am dependent upon my iPod for working out. I work out to hard rock with a driving beat. It really *pumps* *me* *up*.

    My workout partner is myself.

No, and I am glad about that. I like setting my own pace when I run, for example, as my knees are so variable. I also think there is something special about being out there just as the dawn comes. I often do my best thinking at that time.

I suppose it's true that there are two types of workouts:

-- The meditative individual, using their workout time as a mental escape.
-- And the motivated individual, looking for results.

I'm very much results-driven, in both mental and physical activities. If I'm not working as efficiently as I can be, I'm doing something wrong.

Don't get me wrong, I'm challenging myself, it's just that I'm no athlete. It's an old dog learning new tricks, but you don't want to see the dog doing them.

I don't know that meditation and motivation need to be mutually exclusive.

I have a workout partner since last 2 months. and man, that does help! The workouts have become much more fun.
But oh yes, there's a downside that I have become so used to him that even I miss the workouts on the days that he cannot make it.

I am not a workout type person, as I am the most uncoordinated person ever So the gym and exercise classes are out for me.

Hiking is something I have always done with other people due to the fact that I am horrendous with directions and have a tendency to fall over a lot, plus I enjoy eating their sandwiches. It is something that I would be happy to do myself if I knew I wasn't going to get lost and die.

I walk a lot on my own, but don't mind company.

During my training (loosely put) for the recent moonwalk marathon, I enjoyed training with friends, as things were so hectic and stressful at home that I needed someone else to do the thinking and organising for me.

When it came to the actual marathon (powerwalking) which I did on my own, and I think that got me through. As I saved valuable oxygen by not talking to anyone and they didn't have to listen to me curse the world and myself for 26.2 miles.

I know what you mean about uncoordinated. I have a rough time finding workout tapes that don't make me fall over because the legs and arms have no clue what direction to go.
    2. crpitt
I was the only person stood motionless in a sea of 10'000 people during the pre moonwalk warm up.

It was truly horrifying for me.

If it makes you feel better, one of my friends during a step aerobics class actually fell off the step and twisted her ankle.

      It stopped the whole class.

PS- you still in a room of 10,000 would be a great Where's Waldo.
    4. crpitt
      Ouch!

If I could of dropped to the floor in the foetal position I would of.
  14. dbowles1017
I have several. It just depends on the day and who shows up.

Not now, but I used to share a personal trainer with a couple other people. We had sessions three times a week and splitting the hour with other people made it a lot more affordable.
