I am not a workout type person, as I am the most uncoordinated person ever :) So the gym and exercise classes are out for me.

Hiking is something I have always done with other people due to the fact that I am horrendous with directions and have a tendency to fall over a lot, plus I enjoy eating their sandwiches. It is something that I would be happy to do myself if I knew I wasn't going to get lost and die.

I walk a lot on my own, but don't mind company.

During my training (loosely put) for the recent moonwalk marathon, I enjoyed training with friends, as things were so hectic and stressful at home that I needed someone else to do the thinking and organising for me.

When it came to the actual marathon (powerwalking) which I did on my own, and I think that got me through. As I saved valuable oxygen by not talking to anyone and they didn't have to listen to me curse the world and myself for 26.2 miles.

I suppose it's true that there are two types of workouts:

-- The meditative individual, using their workout time as a mental escape.
-- And the motivated individual, looking for results.

I'm very much results-driven, in both mental and physical activities. If I'm not working as efficiently as I can be, I'm doing something wrong. :)

No, and I am glad about that. I like setting my own pace when I run, for example, as my knees are so variable. I also think there is something special about being out there just as the dawn comes. I often do my best thinking at that time.

I work out alone in the gym. At first i was reluctant to join the gym as I was very shy of my weight but my husband gave me the encouragement and now I dont regret cos I feel a whole lot better. No one laughed or made fun of my size as i assumed. The instructors are all friendly and willing to help. Thanks to my hubby.
