      I don't. lol

My sleeping schedule is so erratic.

I never sleep at a regular time.

      It's so off the wall.
    2. footiam
      try counting sheep?
  1. ranist22
I've always had it. It seems to me a kind of person has it, and people who sleep early and like logs have always sought my friendship. I can't explain it, I'm just stating it.
  2. satijournal
    Practice mindfulness.
  3. sharpodue
yes i do and its come about from not being able to leave my blog and blogging alone!

I think insomnia has been the trusted friend of writers throughout history. Phrases such as “burning the midnight oil”, “early bird gets the worm”, “rest when you’re dead”, all condition us early on to believe we’d better hit every assignment full throttle and not let off until the finished paper lands on the Editors desk. If we slack off, there’s another writer waiting in the wings who didn’t, and they’d be glad to step up and take the job right out from under you.

So over time, insomnia becomes your business partner. You start to realize your greatest bursts of creativity come only at the point of utter physical and mental exhaustion. In time, you actually start to plan on this, you strive to achieve this state. Coffee in one hand, pen in the other.

Yes I have it and as someone mentioned before I don't overcome it, lol

It feels normal to me now, when I get sick and sleep properly my body gets out of wack.

I've been an insomniac for the last 4 years and it is something that I have learned to deal with. When I had a regular 7-3:30 job it was harder but now that I am self-employed I sleep whenever I get sleepy and stay up when I can't sleep. Sometimes insomnia can be your friend though I do love to sleep and miss it when it eludes me.
  7. henchmanmike
I go through spurts of barely sleeping. But last night I finally got more than 4 hours of sleep. I got 8!
  8. deejames

I don't have what you'd call a medical type insomnia. Mine is more stress induced. Sometimes I can't fall asleep at all and other times I fall asleep fast and then wake up with a start and then can't get back to sleep. I take either Advil PM, Tylenol PM or just the sleepy pill formula that is in the Advil and Tylenol. All this is, is the same medication that is in cold/allergy meds that makes you sleepy. And it's not psuefedrin (sp?), because that stuff will kill ya.

Sometimes I will listen to something relaxing on the ipod or get on the computer for about an hour. Those tend to relax me. I only really get a good night's sleep twice a week if I'm lucky. And you'd think that weekends I could sleep in and catch up but noooooooooo, I wake up even earlier and can't get back to sleep. It Sucks.
    1. footiam
Imsomnia is dreadful! But if you can't sleep, you find something nice to do. That's cool! May consider the next time it strikes!
    2. TJlubrano
      aah interesting!

No! I would give anything to be able to stay up past 10:00. Staying awake is my issue.
  12. Tharmen
I am not sure if there is a remedy for insomnia... I have got this problem since I became an adult
Job, relationships, money, existence, love, life of XXI century is specially made for us. Very cool, i isn't is?

I have found that staying active keeps my insomnia in check. If your body is tired, you will sleep better.
  14. MadameX
Is it called insomnia if you really want to sleep but just can't find time?
    1. ThriftShopRomantic
      That may be "inMOMnia."
  15. PrincessQuello
Yes and mine is mainly due to stress.
    1. ekim941
You should try a physical activity that is also a good stress reliever.

      Maybe yoga.
    2. PrincessQuello
I used to run every night but now, I'm so tired once I get home that I haven't gotten on my treadmill in weeks...

I'm hoping to get back to a work out routine...
    3. footiam
Perhaps, you have to find ways to remove the stress first.
  16. Scribblerchick
I used to be a terrible insomniac. Then I found Melatonin. 4 mg and I can sleep about 7 hours, which is enough. At your local GNC or health food store. No side effects. I've taken it for years.
  17. kataztrophy
Television keeps me away(Adult Swim to be specific). I fall asleep only after the watchable shows are over.
  18. Bayho
yeah i have some trouble sleeping at night.. i mean it sucks because i literally go the entire night not being able to sleep.. i and when i do fall asleep its as if i just went to bed and not its time to start my day all over.. i hate it,

  21. sinuousscribe

  28. chrissred
I think I do and I sleep usually now at 12 MN just because I don't want to be the only one awake at midnight, I get the creeps. The next day I wake up at 6AM. However, I really long to catch up on lost sleep even just take a short nap in the afternoon but I don't. I feel it's a crime to be caught napping. But believe me you, my hubby and I argue over that because he always naps. .... and here I am still with my huge eyebags
  29. lotusb
OH GOD YES. I can't sleep when my room is messy or my laundry needs to be washed. I cant sleep when there is disorder and these days there is LOTS of disorder. I use pills to go to sleep. Pills and booze.
    1. footiam
Better practise yoga. Pills and booze kill!
  30. roentarre

You never include 'counting sheep' as a way to overcome insomnia!
  43. Epicharis
I used to have terrible insomnia until I got glandular fever, since then I have had more trouble staying awake! I certainly would rather have the insomnia...at least you can get thins done while your body tortures you!
  44. celticmusicfan
my job pays me to have insomnia
    1. footiam
      Not a very nice job?
  45. harveyavatar
Ever since I gave some orgonite to a mate, his insomnia has disappeared. Or so he says... lol!
    1. harveyavatar
      @CMF,
Yes! But that is a HHG (which includes five crystals). The first time I made one I had vivid dreams - lol. It opens wide your aura.
The one I gave to this acquantaince is a "TB" with only one crystal. He asked me for another one far a friend last time I saw him... lol
Cheap to make, if you know where to get your stuff.

      Back to the beaches!
  46. noodlemie
yes i have insomnia.i like night, quiet and peacefull.i used to work at night.i'd never really try to overcome it.
  47. MountainSage
Yep. Sure do. I didn't to sleep yesterday until 8:30 a.m. and got up at 1:30. I don't expect to get to sleep a whole lot earlier today.
  48. TJlubrano
oh yeah sometimes I do have that =_='. really annoying!

Counting sheep? Well that can be...ehm interesting. I always thought that it was kind of weird story...I mean common....you are trying to sleep...but in your head you see only a fence and thousands of sheep just hopping over it...no music...or dancing just sheep :|...I mean it's just like silence of the sheep...and what if one sheep trips and all the other sheep are falling down behind it and you just have to start all over again...okay that is just simply stressing! Instead of falling asleep you are trying hard to save the hopping sheep so that you can count again...to fall asleep....okay wait...that doesn't sound right at all...this will probably keep me up tonight as well -_-''

No but seriously...luckily I don't have it that often...when it does happen, I write things down or read a few things ^_^

My insomnia comes and goes, usually its having trouble falling asleep. My body feels tired but my mind cant relax. Last time I got insomnia its lasted for more than a month and I looked and felt like crap. So I started going to bed an hour earlier, and started taking melatonine tablets and that help regulate my schedule
    1. TJlubrano
Yeah I used the melatonin tablets too! Although when I got enough sleep and I used the tablet anyway I woke up feeling very heavy and not well rested (sometimes I was afraid that I would wake up again during the night and that I couldn't fall asleep again). I'm not using it anymore. I only used it in stressful period *blames school exams for that*.

i have steroid-induced insomnia (which is why i'm wide awake at 1am)... i'm afraid to take sleeping pills, but lavender in my pillowcase & a couple of benadryl usually ends up working.
