I was wondering if many of you have multiple blogs? I saw someone here has 8 blogs and that amazed me. I have 3 blogs now and I am having a little trouble continually adding content to them all.
I would like to know:
1. How many blogs do you have?
2. What is each blog dedicated to (content)?
3. How often do you update content to each?
4. How much time to you spend adding to them?
5. Do you find it difficult to manage multiple blogs?
I really appreciate all of your comments and suggestions if you have any.

I have 2. One travel blog for when I am travelling and the other for when I am staying still. Although I just posted about life as a nomad on my staying still site, so I guess I am confused!
-
That is funny Nomadic!
I currently have 3 blogs and I tried to make them all different enough as to not get confused.
1. Christian Topics: Prophecy, Life, World Events, etc.
2. Personal Random Thoughts: Journal type
3. Snow Globes: My collection
However, the problem I am having is that #1 is very time consuming because it takes a lot of research, #2 is not that difficult if you do not have writers block or a brainfart, #3 is that there really is not much of topic ideas rather than sharing my globes and trying to find other's to talk about.
So, I thought I would find out what others here are doing.

Yes, I have 3 blogs.
They are:
www.offendedblogger.com ~ a humor blog that is dedicated to making fun of the easily offended and things that easily offend people.
www.theoffendedamerican.com ~ a somewhat serious humor/political blog which focuses in more on the dangers of political correctness and America's "offenses" by state.
www.tetonsandbeyond.com ~ a photo blog all about my life with Yellowstone park and the Grand Tetons as my "backyard".
I update The Offended Blogger several times a week, The Offended American once or twice a week, and Tetons and Beyond sporadically, more so now that the weather is better and I can get out on more photo adventures.
Lucky for me I have a lifestyle that allows me the freedom to spend time on my blogging, so it isn't really an issue for me to keep them updated and I don't find it difficult at all to manage multiple blogs (well...except when I am sick and hopped up on NyQuil).

I have 2 blogs.
The first one "Delve into..." meghnaspages.blogspot.com/ has stories, poetry, humor, bizarre, school etc. Updated in 3-4 days.
The second one "The Writing Pages" thewritingpages.blogspot.com/ is about writing, books, authors and the like. Updated in 5-6 days.
Both the blogs take too much of my time and with my school activities, sometimes I find it difficult. But I thoroughly enjoy both. -

I have two, one for all things food related and one for my personal family journal. Haven't been brave enough to publish the personal stuff here yet!
I am no master proliferator as far as publishing is concerned. I probably spend at least an hour writing each post, but my time is all chopped up throughout the day. My goal is to publish 3x a week on the cooking site and at least once or twice a week on the personal one. When I get more than that, I put it in a queue to publish on that schedule and allow me the usual weeks here and there when I can't get to blogging.
It is difficult to divide my efforts between the two, in addition to submitting yet different content for print publications. I am getting the hang of it, but still have more to learn.
My approach now is to dedicate certain days a week to content for each blog. For example, Fridays are for personal blogging. Tuesdays and Wednesdays are for cooking thoughts. I can collect thoughts and ideas on other days, but only spend my energies posting about one topic per day. When I do get going on a topic, I write several posts and meter them out over coming weeks.
Good luck, I'll be curious to see what other ideas everyone else has, too.-
Krista: Gosh, reading over your site really made me hungry... I think I am going to try your Mac and Cheese Lasagna very soon.
It sounds great that you dedicate specific days to collaborate your content vs. posting it. My blogs are through WordPress, so I am not sure if I have the ability to queue for posts in the future... that would be a nice feature!
Thanks for your input, it is helpful.

Yes I have multiple blogs.
Sometimes I want to have more but time is very limited.
Nowadays the blogs are more like my personal projects.
roentarre.blogspot.com
facade-roentarre.blogspot.com
photoblog50mm.blogspot.com
www.roentarre.com/Blog.aspx?id=4-
roentarre: I really enjoyed looking through your pics. You are a good photographer IMO. Some of my favs were,(listed by site)
1. Waterfalls and sand sculptures
2. Façade 37 and façade 31
3. Festivity
4. Your journal entries have great shots
I probably should have started a photo blog... it would seem to take a bit less time for each entry since a picture speaks a 1000 words. lol

I have a few blogs, but really the only one I post stuff in is www.wafflelogue.com, which is general waffling about whatever takes my fancy. Plus I post pics in the gallery there.
My other blogs are just fiddling with code blogs as I'm learning css etc. I don't think I could keep up with more than one blog, or have enough to say either. -
I have my main blog drowseymonkey.blogspot.com and I update it several times a week, sometimes daily - sometimes not. It's a blog with my thoughts on stuff...and that varies from funny to serious depending on my mood. I probably spend about an hour or so on each post.
I have a photo blog drowseypics.blogspot.com that I update less often, it's mainly photos my sister & cousin take...they travel quite a bit. This blog doesn't take much time, I just upload the photos. -
I have two blogs,
majik2903.blogspot.com is for mostly current events and random thoughts on stuff. I try to update this one as much as possible.
majiksworld.blogspot.com is my web-novel updated once a week. -

1. 33
2. art: 17
film reviews: 3
photography: 3
test blog: 1
time wasters: 1
video: 8
3. One of them daily
Three of them twice a week
The others vary more.
4. A lot
5. Yes
I started blogging after Hurricane Katrina and the flood. Unfortunately I lost some artwork in the flood. It was artwork from when I was much younger. It was being stored in the basement (above ground one) at an aunt’s house. The art at my house did fine. Because I appreciated what art I still had left, I decided I should blog about it.
From 2001 on I have been exploring new directions for my art. That has meant a lot of experimentation. I’ve ended up with several bodies/genres of work which has translated into separate blogs.
With the purchase of a digital camera I soon found myself taking photos and video in addition to photographing my art. While the media covered the aftermath of the storm, I decided to try to document some positive imagery of the Greater New Orleans Area. Some of my photos and videos have then lead to works of art.
Getting back into the groove and making art has been slow for me. The proliferation of blogs has become part of my art process. For the last couple of years they have helped me reflect and decide where I want to go.
A few other blogs concern the video phenomenon that has taken place online in the last three years. There’s also my love of film. And lastly I have a blog for the sole purpose of testing new widgets and features before I add them to my blogs.-
dotartdude: It just amazes me how anyone could keep up with so many... I really am having to stretch myself to keep up with 3.
Like you and others have said, I am noticing that many have a blog just to test out widgets, etc. Hmmm... Of course, my husband is the one who does most of that, then he says... Ok, do this or that and I do and guess what??? It works!

I have three blogs now:
adsforblog.blogspot.com is my typical make money blog. I don't really update it because of lack of time
2) happeningeu.blogspot.com is about a grup of students coming together for prayer. I am just one of the authors there and we haven't really started writing in it yet.
3) insideeu.blogspot.com it some thing similar to the previous one but it is private-
jims: Great idea to have others who can post content to the blog as well, that way you don't have to do ALL the work.
I checked out your site and saw where you talk about creating pages for blogspot...
I told my husband "OutsideMyBrain" because he was wondering about that, so thanks for the comment and the pages info on your blog!

3. How often do you update content to each? It depends
4. How much time to you spend adding to them? See #2
5. Do you find it difficult to manage multiple blogs? N/A -
Two blogs for me.
One is devoted to decorating with thrift store finds.
The other is dedicated to original humor stories.
I update the thrifting blog twice a week (Sunday and Wednesday).
The humor blog I update when I feel funny (or I guess, nauseous
) -- which is about three times a week.
It is more of a challenge to have more than one blog, but they're very different topics, so I find myself just partitioning my life with the different content. -
Yes I have two blogs that are currently active and both require feeding at least every two to three days.
thistimethisspace.com
In this personal development blog I record conscious living, dreaming, transforming, happiness, relationships, coping with & learning from major loss & chronic disease.
onecoolsite.wordpress.com
This blog is a collection of wordpress blogging tips, how to instructional posts, tutorials, walk-throughs, work-arounds and links to blogging tools and blogging resources. -
I also have 3 blogs that I update regularly.
One is dedicated to Christianity with a major focus on Bible prophecy, my next one is a personal one about my life, and the other one I hope to update 1-2 times a week and it is a photo blog of the area where I live.
I update the first one fairly regularly and the personal one at least every other day.
The photoblog is the most time consuming because I upload all the photos to a host site flickr first and it takes me a good hour or more to complete a post for that blog. The other two are under 20 minutes, usually. -
I have three and they all about art.
My blog is updated every 3 to 4 days
jafabrit.blogspot.com/
The jafagirlart group blog is updated once a week
jafagirlart.blogspot.com/
The Yellow Springs Arts Council blog every other week, more if I can.
ysarts.blogspot.com/
I usually spend at least 2 every day working on the computer and updating or preparing blog entries, emails, website (run two websites but they don't need a lot of attention other than the occasional updates).
I find it harder to do the arts council blog because I am doing it all by myself and people haven't cottoned on the the fact that they need to SEND me blog entry ready stuff or pics if they want to be promoted on the blog. So blog entries are dependent on me taking pics when I'm in and around town or finding relevant info via the net. Still I love doing it as it helps promote the arts in our village. -
I have really enjoyed reading your comments and looking at your sites. I was think yesterday about this and thought I would commit myself to working on my blog content first before anything else. When I don't do this, I get caught up in so many other things and feel like I get down to the wire of posting that day, then what do ya know... writer's block.
Well, my plan seemed to work today... we will see if it holds up.
I really feel the need to post everyday, or at least try to, however, on my first blog I feel the content needs more focus and it is very time consuming. I don't want to just post whatever on that one, ya know? With that at times I feel like I have set the standard so high that it assists in the "writer's block". I guess it will be as it will.
Is there anyone else who has come up with a system that works for them? Do any of you feel pressure to post daily? -
To my wonderful wife: To answer your question, I do have two blogs. My main blog is profiled here at BlogCatalog and as soon as I get some time to beef up my other blog I will be profiling that here as well too.
I am thinking about creating a third blog though. I sometimes just want to be silly, or rant about something that I am irratated about or just write about something that I am passionate about. I am getting reviews about my current blog that say it doesn't have a strong theme yet. It is because I did some of the aforementioned activities on it. As soon as I post more articles, tuned to theme, it will become clear what my blog represents. -
I have two blogs that I keep very active.
My first blog is the Ripple Effect, a site dedicated to spreading the word on new, unheralded and lost classic artists. We cover all types of music from rock and metal to post-punk, funk and jazz. I do that with a buddy and we religiously update 3 times a week.
My newest blog is My Writing Life, a site where I share lessons and tips I've learned about novel writing along my path of getting my medical thriller published. I update that one every day. -
I have two blogs, that sort of intersect, in that they both have a lot to do with retro/vintage stuff, and pop culture...
My history/genealogy blog is thevirtualdimemuseum.blogspot.com - there's also plenty of weird old advertisements, old postcards, old almanacs on it. I really am interested in all sorts of weird stuff like Victorian patent medicines, fashion, true crime - you name it!
My other blog kitchenretro.wordpress.com is more humor-based and relies on my retro cookbook collection, loads of funny old ads, and any sort of retro stuff that i just like (movies, old TV, etiquette etc).
I update every day, pretty much, with the odd break. -
Yes, I have three blogs and update them when I have time.
One is a business blog (bloomyourbiz.com), the 2nd is about green living and fair trade more or less, and the 3rd one is a social enterprise blog where I post about Guatemala, development, and more. My biz blog used to go under another name but I just resubmitted it to BC under a new name.
You can visit my blogs by clicking my avatar or name. :-) Blessings to you! -
I have one blog only. If I had more I couldn't imagine having enough time to enjoy the list of blogs I readily check out every day.
If I used my blog(s) to earn money I'm sure I'd feel different entirely.
I also update my blog daily, so I guess that makes a big difference too.-
Bradley310: I know what you mean, that it would eat into your reading time of other blogs. I pick some to follow, yet I don't have as much time as I would like to follow them... so, I probably end up passing on some I would like to go back to and then forget to check.
BTW - congrats on the lbs lost!

here is mine;
I have 2 blogs
the 1st is for anything, random niche whatever it calls,
the 2nd is only for property brokerage especially for Bali property, do you know where that is?
Updated on a daily bases even many times I feel hard enough to keep both at the same level...it's just not easy unless if you have many author works together to manage your multiple blogs. -
1. How many blogs do you have?
6 active, 2 testing so 8 so far (more coming)
2. What is each blog dedicated to (content)?
Internet and Network Marketing www.BehindTheCurtain.byCenay.com
How Do You Do That? Videos www.Videos.byCenay.com
Nussentials Training Blog www.NussentialsSuccessSecrets.com
Autism www.Autism.News-Elf.com
Nascar www.Nascar.News-Elf.com
Toby Keith www.Toby-Keith.News-Elf.com
3. How often do you update content to each?
Videos about 4 times a month, IM and NM Marketing 4-6 times a month, NSS weekly (I try anyway, did I mention I ALSO have a full time job?) and the last three not very often. They are mostly Adsense blogs, except the Autism one has taken on a life of it's own.
4. How much time to you spend adding to them? Counting tweaks to CSS and adding links? About 10-15 hours a week.
5. Do you find it difficult to manage multiple blogs? Oh yes! I should have stuck with one! Just kidding. -
-
got two too.
main one www.amyoops.blogspot.com
and my special one.. www.libertybikesandboards.blogspot.com -
1. How many blogs do you have?
I am in the process of creating 20 blogs. I have 5 now
2. What is each blog dedicated to (content)?
Archery, diecast cars, weight loss, my company blog
3. How often do you update content to each?
One blog per day
4. How much time to you spend adding to them?
About 2-3 hrs adding content. The rest of the time I am promoting it.
5. Do you find it difficult to manage multiple blogs?
Yes initially. But need to think of a way to do that. Create a system and follow it. -
1. How many blogs do you have?
4 reg blogs and a tumblelog that takes low effort.
2. What is each blog dedicated to (content)?
Psychology and inspiration, online diary, teaching anecdotes, 125 word productivity tips.
3. How often do you update content to each?
New post every day or every other day. I write future posts.
4. How much time to you spend adding to them?
2-3 hours a day for all of them.
5. Do you find it difficult to manage multiple blogs?
Yes. I use www.rememberthemilk.com to store ideas on the fly and manage tasks. I try to avoid the time suckers like Twitter and other. (Though I get a lot of ideas there!) -
-
I have 3 blogs, 1 website, 2 myspace profiles, numerous profiles in social groups. 3 twitters. 3 blog logs, 3 blog catalogs whew I am tired writing this! I have a lot because I have more niches than 1 blog will cover. I add content almost daily and love it!
I spend about 1 hour in the morning and a couple at night. More time on the weekends.
I have a weightloss surgery (personal) blog blog.mackyplanet.com
blog promotion web site mackyplanet.com
fun blog thesnarkyview.com
really fun (for me) retrokimmer.blogspot.com about vintage 60's stuff -
I have a religious blog and a professional blog. I have always toyed around with the idea of having 2 additional blogs (a foodie blog and a personal journal type of blog)
I like to update my religious blog every day (often many times) and my professional blog every 2 weeks.
I prefer infrequent long posts to frequent shorties.
Since my blogs are on my preferred site (blogger), I wouldn't have much trouble in maintaining the various blogs (but if I had a mix of wordpress and bl, then I may have trouble!) -
I have 100 blogs..most of them are food recipes. Here some of them.
mexican-dessert-recipes.blogspot.com/
raspberrypie-recipe.blogspot.com/
macaronisaladrecipe.blogspot.com/
allhealthyrecipe.blogspot.com/
shrimp-recipe.blogspot.com/
frozendrinks-recipes.blogspot.com/
sweetpotatoes-recipe.blogspot.com/
traditional-mexican-recipes.blogspot.com/
beefcurry-recipe.blogspot.com/
macaronigrill-recipes.blogspot.com/-
this is one case where you should be consollidating the recipes in a single site under varied tags
else the user group gets fragmented (In fact if I browse for food and recipe, I tend to do a LOT of cross browsing within the site than get away! And recipe is like chemistry - you tend to get used to a person's writing style and flavor - so you want more of the author within the confines of the website ... just my 2 pence !and once you have consolidated, pls do let me know - I would ove to visit your sites !! -
@hadrian .. I would have to concur with tmat ... I would definitely consolidate your recipes into one domain - and host it yourself to protect yourself. And, it will give you longer life on the domain and adding new posts as well - I mean .. how many Raspberry pie posts can you create? One domain will help keep that fresh.
