In the Old Testament, Daniel was a prophet whose story is told in the Book of Daniel. His enemies sent him into the lion's den where God set him free. -
I know the meaning of my first name and my maiden name. They're actually both very nature-friendly (honey bee and yew tree, in different languages) but I've never been able to find any translation on-line.

Rory = Red Irish King
It's actually a nickname of Roderick. Both Rory and Roderick, in Gaelic, are the same name. My dad is Roderick.

I speak a lot of different languages and it's funny how some names have really odd meanings in some other language, like the country Finland - in Chinese it means stinky orchid. Yeah.
