Do you lie?

Think about it. How many times a day do you tell a lie? Do you tell white lies, lies to protect someone, lies to make yourself look better or lies about how much money you make blogging?
I have recently begun totally trying not to say even a little white lie and it is actually very hard.
Do you think that in today's society lying has just become common place? We all want more, want to seem better than we are so we lie to make up our own reality which we hope others will accept.
Has lying taken the place of accepting who and where you are in your life? Is there mistrust because of lies from the media, government and even your family and friends?
Just wonderin'...

Sometimes a lie when the truth wouldn't make that much more difference in the circumstance. Then I tell the truth later and it's no big deal. But I feel compelled to tell the truth like what time I did the laundry.

No, I am actually really bad at lying. Plus, I'm lazy. Lying takes so much work to keep up. It's easier to tell the truth and just deal with whatever the consequences are.
It's really infuriating to me actually when people lie for convenience. -

"Power don't come from a badge or a gun.
Power comes from lying.
Lying big, and gettin' the whole damn world to play along with you.
Once you got everybody agreeing with what they know in their hearts ain't true, you've got 'em..
I could pump you full of bullets right now, and I wouldn't even be arrested.
Everyone would lie for me -everyone who counts."

Liars need to have an excellent memory, so it's easier to be honest.
I'm normally too straightforward, so sometimes I have to stop myself and tell a little white lie to keep the peace. I do omit certain things sometimes, I guess that's a form of lying? -
Our truths are only based on what we know and not what we don't. I've never lied to anybody. What they know is truth to them because I make it true.

Have I told a lie in the past? I'm sure it's happened. Nowadays I lie but only to my partner who knows I'm lying (he proceeds with saying bs meter just went through the roof, etc). Otherwise, I have trouble actually wanting to lie to protect anyone because I don't see any point in it. My few friends and family know me for being blunt and honest, whether or not it may hurt someone's feelings. Why be offended by an opinion you were asking for anyway?
I do that because I would want everyone else to be as straightforward with me as they can. -

I just watched that show "Lie to Me" and it creaps me out! He can look at your face and know by a certain twitch or scratch that you lied. SPOOKY!

I actually cannot lie... I can try.. but I have never... ever gotten away with it...I think its psychological from my childhood. The funny thing is that I can't even just leave out the truth, and my wife knows it... so when she asks me something all she has to do is sit there for a second and I will spill it all!

Maybe I'm just sneaky. I try not to lie (not saying I don't), but I tend to misdirect, or frame things in a way that suits whatever situation best.
Maybe it comes from having been a copywriter (spin-doctor) for a few years - or maybe I was drawn to that because of my misdirecting tendencies.
Don't know if that's good or bad. -
