I think she's hot and I like her music (although I'm starting to see a pattern forming with the themes).
But as far as her fashion goes I think it looks good, and original but from what i've seen it obviously doesnt translate well to the live concert scene. Her costumes are either too bulky or too restricting for her dance moves and she gets puffed while singing. Not a good thing if you've paid to see her live. -

I can't disagree with what you've written on you blog - however I feel the same way about 100% of the "fashion designers" out there today.
Most runway, fashion designer superstars create outfits just like the ones she's wearing - she's just actually wearing them in public

Anok, you rightly said that there are many fashion designers who create clothes which normally are not wearable.
In fashion industry we generally have two categories of designers - conceptual designers and commercial designers.
In couture we have the conceptual designers like Hussein Chalayan, Jean Paul Gaulier, Martin Margiela etc. who are considered as “conceptual designers”. They works with concepts (may not be “wearable” today) and exhibits ideas. The best example of concept is the “low hip trouser” which was introduced in late 80’s as a ramp concept and was considered as most outrageous design.
This was being taken as anti-fashion. This concept was later being adopted by the “commercial designers” who made the low hip trousers which we are seeing today in market.
The conceptual designs are also called Avant garde designs, which are way ahead of time. Their work is called the work of ART. These so called crazy and un-wearable designs and are the inspirations for many commercial designers who develops prêt lines and wearable ensembles.
Not all concepts are commercialised though, but they inspire the commercial designers in theri creations ashey always seek for something new.
I think Lady Gaga's fashion sense has helped her gain immediate popularity. So for her her style has given her rewards. But its not something that we should get inspired from. Unless you are looking for similar popularity. She can get away with it, I doubt we can unless we want to make fool of ourselves. -
I do understand the concept (and feel like I've just been through a real life shortened version of the Devil Wears Prada
)
I just find it amusing that what the conceptual designers design are praised on the runway, but are often made fun of or shunned in real life
To me it's like praising a modern abstract expressionist's work, but then making fun of the buyer who purchases it, and shows it in their home
