I go in phases in terms of listening to music. I love seeing live music performed and am lucky enough to live in a city with many small, comfortable venues in which to see bands on stage. As far as recorded music, I listen when I need a break from my usual news radio listening.

When I want music at work or at home I tend to use Pandora at www.pandora.com. Its a music streaming service thats tied into the Music Genome Project ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Music_Genome_Project ).

On Pandora you create your own radio stations seeded with bands or songs you like and it plays that stuff AND other stuff that the Music Genome Project finds similar to your taste. It's a great way to hear music you already like and gain exposure to new bands that you may never have encountered.

I, too love music and I understand the enjoyment of sharing it.

I'm wondering though... Have you received permission from the music companies to do what you're doing? If you haven't gone through all of the proper channels, you could get into a lot of trouble. Be careful.

I see you have adsense on the blog. Don't you think it is morally wrong to earn money from pirated music?
    1. n8
Well to be honest I make little to no money off Adsense. My blog isn't nichy enough Google. The music I have on my site I own. Mostly old cds I converted to mp3's. I'm not selling the tunes you can only listen to them not download them. I mostly use it at work when I forget my mp3 player.
    2. jungl
      Sorry Nate
I was thinking about the starter of this thread that have full albums available for download.
  12. n8
Ah I see. I actually had a concern about this a while back, but the directory I have my music in has robot.txt set to make that directory get skipped. You can still find them if you're savvy enough, but when I tried password protecting this section my XSPF player couldn't access them. So I did what I could and haven't had any probs with anyone yet. I'm actually on speaking terms with some of the artists in my list.

Are you kidding? I'm obsessed with music! I often talk about it on my blog. In fact, sometimes I have "themed" weeks surrounding music (artists, music videos, etc.).
  26. SocialCitizen
I continued thinking about your question here, and was inspired to dedicate a post to "music." More specifically, I realized how attracted to Canadian music I am.

hi everbody! I found Jara's ALL ALBUMS and upload in my blog! Maybe you like him and his music! If you wanna know about:

    Who is Victor Jara!

Víctor Lidio Jara Martínez (September 28, 1932 – September 15, 1973) was a Chilean pedagogue, theatre director, poet, singer-songwriter, and political activist. A distinguished theatre director, he devoted himself to the development of Chilean theatre, directing a broad array of works from locally produced Chilean plays, to the classics of the world stage, to the experimental work of Ann Jellicoe. Simultaneously he developed in the field of music and played a pivotal role among neo-folkloric artists who established the Nueva Canción Chilena (New Chilean Song) movement which led to a revolution in the popular music of his country under the Salvador Allende government. Shortly after the U.S. backed September 11, 1973 Chilean coup he was arrested, tortured and ultimately machine gunned to death - his body was later thrown out into the street of a shanty town in Santiago. The contrast between the themes of his songs, on love, peace and social justice and the brutal way in which he was murdered transformed Jara into a symbol of struggle for human rights and justice across Latin America.
