   95% of the local TV commercials here just plain suck. I hate that they try to squeeze them into the foreign channels and I find myself watching a good movie or show, or even a decent commercial from Elsewhereland, only to be interrupted by a local ad.
   
   At least now, I can easily keep myself from having to watch the local commercials (and local shows, because they suck even more) because the cable company grouped most of the local channel into channels 1 through 31, so I just start flipping channels at 32

   I dislike commercials. I watch television to see a tv series or a movie. I don't want to see some type of commercialism trying to program me to purchase something.

   I almost never watch commercial television. Thankfully in Australia the government channels are so good, there is almost no need to watch commercials

   Some are good and some are bad. I particularly dislike the ones that appear 10 times louder than the prog you were watchin ( to catch your attention if you'd left the room) . I like fun and inventive ones with something you haven't seen before. X

   I hate them. that is why I tivo all of my favorite shows and start watching them about 15 minutes late, it gives me just enough time to fast forward through them and enjoy my program without being bombarded with feminine hygiene and tooth paste ads

   I hate the bad ones and love the good ones. And I DO buy based on an add if I like it. I also avoid buying from places that made a bad add with 0 budget.
   
   The best adds I remember are surprisingly Finnish. One for McDonald's just before Christmas, where this puppet pig was protesting in front of McDonald's repeating: "Go eat chicken!" (We eat pork for Christmas.) www.youtube.com/watch?v=iZNu7InZF9s
   
   Another one is shot at a play ground with the older kids starting to argue over who's mom cooks best. After a while this 2 year old announces that "My mom makes your mom's foods!" (Advert for a pre-cooked meals company.) Then she winks at the camera with a big grin on her face. I saw an interview by the guy who shot the add and he said the last wink was just a thing the girl added to it herself, and he had been repeating her line to her about 10 times without managing to get her to repeat it once before the camera was rolling, and had no idea how it's going to go.     Yes, most definitely. If they cut out all the commercials on an hour show, you will only get about 15-20min show and if you cut them out of a half our show, your looking at at 10min show. What a waste. That's why I DVR most of my shows....And these stupid Geico commercials are getting on my flakin nerves, they are so stupid and a waste of everyone's time. They are Not the lowest of auto insurance if one does their research.
