In present times with umpteen modes of entertainment to choose from,is listening to a radio still part of your life?
If yes, what do you hear most often? Just music on FM or the news and other programmes too?

i try desperately not to but people play radio everywhere...I can't srand the audio compression the stations use to keep the music above the road noise. The sound is set up for car listeners...nd usually the EQ is set to bring up the highs and lows and is a pretty poor reproduction of the original recordings.

I listen to talk radio when I'm doing housework. There's almost always a good topic being chewed over and it takes my mind off the boring task at hand.

The closest I get to listening to a radio is listening to Musicovery.com - does that count (its all music)?

I love talk radio, but I am tiring of the same ignorance being spewed day in day out. I also really enjoy NPR.
So to have my voice heard I started my own online radio show that can be found at gylonjackson.com.
Finally I like the streaming service that pandora.com provides. -
NPR while in the kitchen washing dishes or cooking.
Some NPR podcasts on my commute sometimes. My favorite: Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me.
Edit: for those of you not in North America, here's NPR on the web: www.npr.org/ -
I listen to the radio quite a bit. I'm a big CBC listener (Canadian Broadcast) www.cbc.ca has a lot of amazing programs. I guess it's the equivalent of American's NPR.
As for music, not as much. When I was a teen we lived by what was on the radio, but not so much now, lol. I do listen to music on the radio when I'm in my car sometimes, unless I hear John Tesh then I have to turn it off!
