As an American, I watched Doctor Who as a kid on public television. I remember liking it, but thinking it was kind of weird. What the heck were jelly babies and how is it the Tardis could go anywhere in space and time? Of course, the cheesy 70's fashions and production values made me write it off and lose interest. Our local PBS station would show Doctor Who marathons on Sundays and there was no way I was going to spend an entire Sunday sitting in front of the tube.

A few weeks ago, I discovered the relaunched series with first Christopher Eccleston and now David Tennant.

I AM OBSESSED!!!! It's slickly made, but still funny, suspenseful, and sometimes terrifying. David Tennant is fantastic as the Doctor.

Do you love Doctor Who? How long have you been watching? David is my favorite Doctor, who is yours?

GEEKS UNITE!

I have been watching since the very first episode (showing me age lol). I have my fave doctors, and count Tennant as one of them. Really look forward to seeing the new Doctor.
I forgot to mention my fave doctors,
    Patrick Troughton

    Tom Baker

I didn't like the first doctor, he was a patronizing old git, but I was mesmerized from the get go.

He seems really young to me, but I will give him a chance. I thought Christopher Eccleston was great and was hesitant about David Tennant. Then two episodes later realized that David was fantastic! It's like he's possessed by the spirit of the Doctor.

I hated Christopher Eccleston, love David Tennant, but hate Russell T Davis who seems to have completely forgotten how to write. The only episodes that are really good are the ones written by Stephen Moffat and the episode by Matt Jones. I can't wait until Moffat takes over next year, but I'm not all that excited about the new doctor...I wanted someone much older.

he does seem awfully young, but maybe I will warm up to him after a couple of episodes.

David Tennant and Billie Piper had fantastic chemistry even though I thought she was somewhat annoying. I liked them TOGETHER.

I still haven't seen Season 4. It's coming on DVD on Wednesday. I am so impatient and have been rewatching episodes from 2 and 3.

I was really just hoping for a really different character...Eccleston and Tennant were young and playful and vibrant, I was hoping for more of a bad-tempered uncle figure like with the original Doctor. Hopefully they'll write a really different character to Tennant's Doctor because I can just see him being too similar.

I think Doctor Who was looking to bring in younger viewers who never saw the old series. The new companion is super young too. I really liked Sally Sparrow from "Blink" better than Martha Jones.

I have been enjoying torchwood, although I can't figure out why the heck gwen dreams of shagging owen, he's a right tosser.

First season of Torchwood was great, second season was so awful that I've tried to erase it from my memory!

I have Torchwood coming on DVD after Season 4. I don't know if I believe Captain Jack as Face of Bo. It seemed like a last minute, tacked on line.

I just can't get into Torchwood. Jack Harkness reminds me too much of Tom Cruise, and everyone seems to be sleeping with everybody else.

I tried to get into it, but just hasn't clicked for me.

The first episode of Torchwood was so ridiculous...

"How do we make it clear that this programme is for adults?"
      "Sex?"
      "But how?"
"How about an alien that kills people by having sex with them?"
      "Yeah, that'll do it..."
    5. Stillthinking
Ooh. I haven't watched it yet. But with Jack being the main character, I'm not really surprised.

I'm a huge fan, too. I've only seen a few of the episodes pre-Eccleston, so I know that makes me a newbie fan. Oh well, I love it now. David Tennant is my current favorite, but I was hesitant about him at first, too, so maybe the new doctor will be ok.

I thought the final episode with Donna Noble was brilliant, but heart-breaking. I loved Donna Noble as a companion.

I haven't seen Season 4 yet! I don't have Scifi channel and I have been renting them on Netflix. I am in love with David Tennant. He's not handsome, just very, very attractive.

Oh yeah, I get all kinds of weak-kneed when I think of David Tennant. Mmmmm........

David Tennant is wildly talented. The way he moves his face is so expressive. I could barely recognize him as Barty Crouch in Harry Potter.

I liked it as a kid (Tom Baker) but I wouldn't watch it now.
My seven year old nephew is a big fan though.

I think you should give the relaunched series a shot. I remember Tom Baker from when I was a kid. I vastly prefer David Tennant.

I've really enjoyed the Doctor Who's with Christopher Eccleston and David Tennant. I didn't think I would get used to David Tennant when they first made the switch, but I think I actually prefer him as Dr. Who.

    I'm apparently Who-fickle.

I will give the new Who a chance, but it seems strange they cast someone so young. I suppose if he's quirky, though, and plays it with a lot of character, I will change my mind.

I have a huge crush on David Tennant as the Doctor. I think he's amazing. Allons-y!

Hey, I'm there with ya on that. But I like kinda weird anyway.
    3. Stillthinking
I think he's the thinking girls sex symbol. He's so attractive in an off kilter, cerebral way.
    4. annz
love the term "who-fickle" and I'm glad I'm not the only one with a massive David Tennant crush.
    5. Stillthinking
If you go search Doctor Who on Facebook, David Tennant has page after page after page of crazy obsessed fans. So, trust me, it's not just us.
