Your blog is interesting ("archives" needs to be corrected)
I'll read the articles on India with great interest.

I use rss atom. I can see the statistics from my cpanel, so no I don't use any built-in statistics
  4. siegex
I use Feedbeerner, just added this feature a couple of days ago, so I guess no statistics, yet. My blog is also new, anyway.
  5. Future
    I also use feedburner
  6. ModelElaine
    I use aweber - $20/mo
  7. CrankyChick
I don't know how to add the email subscription option
    1. BPWebNews
On the feedburner dashboard, select Publicize, then check off/click 'email subscriptions' on the left sidebar. You then get a page with the html code to put into a new gadget on your blog depending on your blogging platform. If you use some other service, try their help button.

Yes, I use the feedburner email option and also reinforce by mentioning it at the end of each post [put it in the Blogger post template and it's added automatically for new post]. It helps to put the subscribe buttons at the top of your blog (above the fold). Depending on the subject, your blog may draw readers who haven't a clue about RSS.
Take a look here: (and don't forget to click a button.. lol)

Question: Do you offer email subscription to your blog?
    Answer: Yes I do
The down side of offering "full" articles by rss feed is that when readers use either an rss feedreader or an email subscription to read your posts, most will not click through to the blog and comment. Also offering a "full" feed rather than "summary" makes it very convenient for blog scrapers to steal your content.

Question: Do you have statistics ? What service do you use ?
My web host provides awstats with my hosting package. In addition I use sitemeter.
    awstats.sourceforge.net/

      A fellow awstats user!
I prefer it over google analytics, what are your thoughts on google analytics vs awstats (jss vs serverside)

I have 6 email subscribers and 1 is mine!!
  11. shravan1000
even I use feedburner!! The most sexiest service available!
  12. cheftom
I use GetResponse.com for my e-mail newsletter on my blog.
  13. avecchioni
I use Subscribe2. Works great. I have it set up so that subscribers receive free access to a password protected post:

    Mondrian Art Project for Kids

(If you google this article you'll see what I mean.)
  14. geekchick
I use feedburner. I'm not sure about the statistics, though.

  16. melindaville
Yes, I sure do--most of my subscribers are email subscribers, although I do offer subscription via RSS feed as well. It comes with QuickBlogcast, which is the software I use for blogging. If you want to see how it looks go to:

I use Feedburner, and subscribe to my blog so I can check the feeds whenever I want. Works fine, and I haven't had any complaints from subscribers at politicsbysatire.blogspot.com.
  18. sterndal
No. But I want to start now

    thanks!

I have it as an option although I don't know anything about it. *Sigh* Not exactly technologically inclined. I have a feedburner account, and I thought I set it up correctly, but it tells me that I have never gotten a view, when my sitemeter tells me I had over 100 today.

If anyone wants to help me......
    1. LaMirabelle
Feedburner has a few bugs with the view counter. No worries.
  20. Sebastyne
I've had the option for a few days now, and as soon as I put it up, I got one subscription. Despite the good start, that's the only subscription I've got. I am under the assumption that people read my RSS more. I use "assumption" because I have several statistics tools and they all show different numbers.
    1. BPWebNews
Sebastyne, about counts, you should try Statcounter - it's free and if you look at 'exit links' and 'exit activity' options you get a count of people clicking on the RSS or email subscrbe links. With activity you can expand and see which site they came from and what pages they viewed before deciding to signup! I've had the stats for awhile but just 'discovered' this feature --- mostly used info on keywords and incoming links...
  21. ThriftShopRomantic
Yep, I do. And while my humor blog's email subscribers aren't terribly big, I'm noticing people seem to love the email subscriptions on my thrifty decorating blog.

In fact, I'm getting an increasing number of responses from the email subscribers, so I know they're reading.
  22. rigved123
    yup i do.

check out my site and see the different styles of email subscription buttons.

    www.techreviews4u.com/
  23. roentarre
Not even sure how to do that myself.
  24. libdrone
I don't, actually. My feed contains only the first two or three lines of each post, so you have to visit the blog to read. I focus on the number of daily unique visitors and don't pay any attention to the subscriber counts.
  25. ayouthofvalour
yeah I use feedburner, and I have the email option open. That's my most popular source of subscribers, over half use it.
  26. AmyOops
yes, thru feedburner, i think ihave like 200 subscribed to it
  27. sayzlim
Yes, and I prefer that people subscribe using e-mail, why? Because we can know who has subscribed to out blog and the number won't change. Because the Feedburner Algorithym somehow doesn't count the subscriber when they're not online if they subscribe via bookmark.

That's what I've known, probably wrong... please correct it if anyone knows..
  28. Anok
I offer feedburner, atom, email subscriptions, and blogger now has a "follower" option that allows others to follow your updates via their dashboard.

I offer a variety of subscriptions because I use a white font on black background, and I understand that many people cannot read that well - the subscriptions in full allow them to read my posts without eyestrain.

I also use Statcounter for my statistics. I love it.
  29. chsegersmom
I use feedblitz for email subs. Tho most of my readers are subscribing thru a feed of some sort..would have to look up the exact stats.
Today has been a record setting day on my blog! Good content is still the key! Over 3x the hits from yesterday! whahoo!
