I am amazed by comments like that...they leave me fairly speechless...
I guess things will be better if we went back to the dark ages, to times without information
I do read newspapers, but mostly their online edition, as that helps the environment
Also as I am currently traveling around the world I do not have access to many UK papers.

I read one every ten years just to remind myself what rubbish they are.
I don't watch the news on TV either or on the internet. -
I find that I am turning to print media including newspapers, magazines, etc. less and less every day. I also find I am viewing more videos than I am TV programs, and I'm listening to more music online than I am to radio stations.
More and more I find that I am deriving my news, research information and entertainment from online sources and resources including ebooks, ezines, videos, websites and blogs. -
Again, I like to stress that reading newspaper on Sunday morning with a light meal of pasta is a pleasure for me. The whole package is an enjoyment

Lifestyle rocks! -
Roentarre...Your idea of reading newspaper is good...I used to be like that too a few years ago, when the web took over and somehow, now I end up sipping coffee and read news on my laptop every morning....:)

I am a Canadian living in London,Uk. One of the best things to do in this city is to scour through the amazing selection of newspapers! There is nothing like waking up Sunday morning, having a scrumptious cooked breakfast with someone you love and wading through the Sunday Times, The Observer, News of the World, Mail on Sunday, Sunday Mirror, whatever takes your fancy...and let's face it, you can't curl up with a computer, folks!

meridance...you seem to really enjoy newspapers! I'm sure there is a lot happening in your area if your local newspaper entertains you this much......Here in US, half the time, other than headlines, rest of pages look wasted!

There's a lot of strong opinions expressed by the newspapers in the UK, which makes them riveting reads and there's about eight national papers competing aggressively for your attention along with local papers, free commuter papers, celebrity magazines etc. The "Fleet Street" press are notorious and exciting in equal measure

Yes I still read those few clumsy papers of newspaper per day (1-3 brands) +the web of those papers as well (maybe all except Chinese newspapers because I can't read any 'Chinese' language at all) as well. Most of the time: sharing my resources, I read in depth for certain hot news/topics from eg: Daylife, Yahoo! News, Google News, msnbc, youtube channels. Else? a casual weekend browsing, I go to other relaxed media including web magazine especially for certain section. Also subscribe a few magazine as well eg RD, Discovery, NatGeo, and Encarta, Brittannica. If that mentioned above just too plain and similar, I goes to blog search and addic-o-matic.

I just watch tv and the internet. Unless it's a free newspaper like RedEyeChicago or the Chicago Reader. Why pay for stuff when it's free.

I do, but not as much. I find that the search engines push out the headlines for the day. I have several favorites I click on for up-to-the-minute reports. I read our local paper for local news. It is more of a scan than a read. Newspapers are destined to go away. They have to reinvent their business or become more and more less and less.

Yes, I mostly read our college newspaper, Cal Poly's Mustang Daily mainly because I write for it and the content is usually interesting. I feel like college students are constantly picking up college newspapers, in the midst of "print's dying era," even more so than national papers. Even though "print is dying," I think it's still very important to have a balance between the print edition and online supplements in the form of multimedia, photo slideshows, video, interactive maps, etc to give readers a richer sense to stories. Both can coexist even with the print industry getting the harsh slash marks from business media mongers.
