Topics: ethics of care., ethics of justice
Ethics of care and ethics of justice are two ways of differentiating right from wrong and making moral and ethical decisions. None of these two is better than the other. Even though ethics of justice and ethics of care may seem very different from one another, actually they are connected. People generally depend on both to making ethical decision. The more you are able to mix these two ethics, the better you are in making the right decisions.

The answers fall in two categories, J or C. Count your number of J and C answers using this key:
1. A=C, B=J 2. A=J, B=C 3. A=C, B=J 4. A=J, B= C 5. A=J, B=C 6. A=C, B=J 7. A=J, B=C 8. A=C, B=J 9. A=C, B=J
The higher your J score, the more you rely on ethics of justice. The higher your C score, the more you rely on ethics of care.
Actually, very few people score 9 Js or 9 Cs. Most of the people have a combined result.

My score are all C’s except 1 J. Obviously, I rely far more on care than justice. I am not at all surprised--this is right in line with my character, I think. -

I can't make a choice between A and B in question 7. I don't have time to add scores right now. I'll return later to do that. -
I am not fond of binary answers.

I want a third pill...option!
I refuse to believe that you cannot express difficult truths to someone sensitively, for example. -
1. B under almost all circumstances, although lying to protect crucial information entrusted to you by a friend is an important duty. I wouldn't lie to protect someones feelings, but if I was told something by a friend, and someone asks about it, I will either lie or simply not say anything depending upon how pushy the person is.
2. B. Most rules are unneccesary anyways.
3. Depends. Both are pretty bad though.
4. A = B.
5. Depends. If you're in a position of power, A. If you're not, B.
6. A
7. Depends upon the decision. Is it practical or is it romantic? These are the extremes of course, but they highlight the dilemma.
8. Gray area, would have to see the particular order and why that particular person would be hurt. Also what the redeeming features of that order would be.
9. My laws are "Love thy God..." and "Love thy neighbor as thyself." My principles are freedom, personal responsibility, sincerity, harmony, eliminating "leaders" and "authority figures" whenever possible, and procedural equality. I pick option 3.
I don't believe in Care, and I don't believe in Justice, I believe in Love. -
