I was over at bestbuy looking at laptops and wii games. I noticed that they were selling dvds for $3.99 and $5. It's actually a good price and i was tempted to purchase a few that i want, but i didn't.

I think that movies are going the mp3 route. You can always find free movies if you do enough searching. also, you can watch whole movies over at hulu.com and other sites.

Do you guys still buy dvds? You guys own a bluray?

I actually still have a brand new surround sound DVD system that I bought 2 years ago still in the box in the closet (have just never gotten around to hooking it up since I bought this house.) I don't buy a lot of movies, to begin with, but someday I'll hook up that player to watch the ones I have.

Our DVD/VHS player went kaput in December so we replaced it with a Blu Ray player. The Blu Ray prices are about $5 to $10 higher than their DVD format versions. We don't buy movies very much anymore unless it's something we just love. Just bought "The Incredible Mr. Limpet" for a gag Valentine's Day gift (it's a romantic fish story)

OMG...I remember Mr. Limpet! You just whisked me back to my childhood with that reference!

I do still buy them, but wait till the price drops - never buy them when they first come out as they are around £14!

I check out my DVDs free from my library. As long as that good deal continues, I'll keep doing it. Occasionally I'll buy a cheap kung-fu movie at KMart when I'm in the mood for a little chop socky.

I still buy CDs and DVDs. I want music on my stereo so I have to buy the CDs anyway.

Who wants to store all of the music on a computer? If it breaks you lost all the songs. Your also missing out on all the artwork on albums and DVDs. It would feel weird. I don't like it. CDs and DVDs for me.

HD blu-ray seems to be what is going to be on the market. Of course there are shows online now in HD too.

I still buy some DVDs because I like to watch them on my TV, the quality is better, and I LOVE special features. My organization is thinking of offering our green films free by streaming with ads (ads needed to offer them free). Which do you find more tolerable: a 15 second pre-roll ad or an ad at the bottom for 15 seconds? The movies are 20-70 minutes long.
