Yes but a small portion of my stumbles are my own posts
You should consider joining us at the stumble project. You need to register to view the posts
www.lovesickalien.com/forums/
But it is well worth registering,if you are interested in improving your stumble traffic.(it is quick and does not cost anything and I have not received any spam related to my participation)
I am just a participant and have found it to be well worth the time compared to my other promotional activities so I thought I would pass the word.-
AND how does it improve you geting "targetted traffic"? ;o)
If it is good, maybe you could share some big benefit you have gained. ;o)
Gives your post a little more weight if you like, and you get the boost of trust, naturally.
Just the way it is you know, nothing personal. ;o)
You saying you don't get spam is fair enough, but I am more interested in what I can give and recieve that will improve things, for me and for everyone.
If you get a ton of great things, spam is a small "hassle".. you know. ;o)
The point I am trying to share is paint the positive that means something. ;o)

Speaking from experience, the Stumble Project is a great community of stumblers, all keen to help each other out.
Another good project is the StumbleUpon Exchange. More details here:

If you're looking for extra traffic, both of the these work!

I do, it gets out there to stumbleupon users. ;o)
After all alot of stumblers may only check youtr profile o it makes sense to at least get it up there. but I am stumbling others too, so all in all I think its better to do it until at least to the tipping point...where you wont need to. ;o)
I stumbled yours already. ;o) -
I've stumbled a blog, not a specific post, to get it 'on the radar' for Stumblers. I figure that fellow-Stumblers can sort out and 'stumble' posts that tickle their fancy.

I don't think it is, but I do think they have a way of making sure if you Stumble a few times different pages from the same site (for example, your own site), less people will see it. I think you're okay as long as you also Stumble other pages and especially if you discover a page (not necessarily your own) that later gets a lot of thumbs up.

In my opinion, Stumble traffic is low-quality traffic. When I use the "stumble!" button, I click it repeatedly until I find an eye-catching site. I'm usually not in the mood to read blogs if I'm stumbling. I think the same applies to most stumblers.
But if you want big traffic numbers in your stats, then go for it. -
Nope. I'm actually about 3 inches away from redirecting Stumble traffic away from my blogs. I don't seem to write things that Stumblers are interested in, which, I suppose begs the question of how I get the stumbles in the first place.
But it is the least productive traffic I have. I can't trace a single MWR action directly to a stumble visitor, they have a bounce rate over 90% and spend less than 50 seconds on average on the blog. -
I was going post this same question. I just recently joined stumbleupon and just a day or 2 ago I went ahead and stumbled one of my blogs. I hope it's alright.
I need to spend more time there figuring out how to use it to it's biggest potential for getting traffic. Even if it is untargeted traffic that only stays for a few seconds because it lookd like that is the only traffic I get now with most of the methods that I am using. About the only ultra targeted traffic I get is from articles and ppc. Usually I don't use ppc for blog traffic but I have on a few posts in the past. -

So basically you can show what you've earned but not eCPM or CTR.

I also stumble only selected posts. Stumble upon is good source of trafficfor me as well and Dosh dosh has given in detail about stumble traffic.http://www.doshdosh.com/a-comprehensive-guide-to-stumbleupon-how-to-build-massive-traffic-to-your-website-and-monetize-it/

I did stumble a few of my posts, only when I am sure those are really really good posts. Normally if the post was not liked by other stumblers, you will not get much traffic. IF your post was liked and you could get a lot of posts.
I don't think it is a good idea to stumble your own posts. You can recommend some of your posts to me, if I believe it is good, I can stumble it. -
I stumble my own posts, but only when it's already been stumbled by others. I usually try to wait until 10 or more people have stumbled it. But, StumbleUpon is useless traffic, unless you have a great post that is going to make people want to return. Great way to get exposure, but that's about it...

The stumblers spent little time on the webpage they read. So the appearance of the webpage, design, photography and video are really important to get liked. Also, most of the traffic is not very important.
The bottom line is, social networks, like, here, stumbleupon, delicious, or digg can give you some traffic and give your new blog some exposure and back links. In long run, focus on content, one or two posts a day, do your home work on SEO are ultimate traffic for you from search engines. And search engine traffic will come in continuously. -

Yes it is true, stumbling your own post will, if seen by the proper authority will get you banned from doing it in the future.... even when friends do it, there is a risk... since this seems a nice thread... why dont we stumble each other, (WITHOUT BEING STUMBLE FRIENDS)? It does help! So here is a simple offer, Stumble my last post in my blog and just let me know, I will in return immediately also visit and stumble yours.... fair enough?
Here is my site... www.nokiasymbianthemes.com
Just let me know! -
If you stumble one of my posts you really like. I will do you as well. Please tell me which is your best post. This way, we do stumbe good posts, the good post will get good amounts of traffic. In addition, stumble it around 8-12am, 2-5pm works best. Here is my website web500.us.
The interesting article: Top 10 ways to melt a girl's heart and one way to melt her body:

Thank you. After you did mine, I will do yours and let me know which is the best of your article. -
I know this is an old discussion and I do think it is so true about stumbleupon being great for promotion.
I however got into trouble and my account temporarily deactivated by them. Evidently it is against their Terms of Use to self submit. They track the number of times you promote a single site. They did reactivate after a little hand slap :-)
Just a heads up.
Cheers
Stephen
PS I just wrote a post on how to check who reviews you ... you might find this useful.
www.stephenbaugh.com/blog/2008/09/how-to-see-who-reviewed-you-on-stumbleupo... -
As stephenbaugh has said above your activity is being tracked on SU. www.blogcatalog.com/discuss/entry/do-you-stumble-your-own-stuff#comment_571... Self submission is against the SU ToS. If you regularly stumble a wide variety of sites unconnected with your own then stumbling your own accidentally will not be a problem. However, If you start to stumble the same friend's sites over and over and they do the same for you this will not be tolerated by SU. Your account will be deactivated. And, if you always try to stumble your own site frequently this likewise will not be tolerated by SU either. Your account will be deactivated. I'm glad these terms of service exist and the tracking is done because self submission and click clubs defeat the purpose of what SU is all about.
