Question: Do you think blogging is the new Hot Career for most?
Answer: No. I do not think blogging is the new hot career for those who have no expertise in what they are blogging about and even those who do are not finding it easy to make a living online.
I am tired of hearing the get rich quick and "make a million blogging" nonsense that has been flooding the internet. We seem to hear that crappola here at least 2 or 3 times weekly at BC. However, when we look at free hosted blogs we find they are frequently full of stolen and/or plagiarized content derived from A and B list bloggers, and spieled over again in low and no quality content blogs that lack any original material.
The most common ways touted for accomplishing this are Google Adwords, Affiliate Marketing, Google Adsense, Forex Trading Robots, Surveys and Product Reviews, Article Marketing and selling on ebay. In addition there are pyramid schemes and other unethical click fraud schemes that I wouldn't touch with the proverbial ten foot pole.
The truth is that there is no quick and easy way to make money online. Making money online or offline involves expertise, excellent writing skills, blogging skills, and hard work. Very few bloggers have the degree of expertise required to produce high quality original content that brings in the massive number of hits on advertisements that are required to make a living from blogging. Moreover, the economic realities we now face mean that making an income from blogging is bound to become increasingly more difficult.
In the economic times in which we live easy credit is no longer available, so I think it’s reasonable to assume we can expect the number of people clicking on ads will decrease. Some companies trimmed and severely cut back on their advertising budgets, and they are aware of the click fraud that pervades the blogosphere, so they are no longer contracting with Google Adsense.
