Obama is the man. From my point of view, so far so good.

The question that needs to be asked before answering yours is, what makes a good President?

And don't say Obama's good because he has soul and can dance...The guy is a puppet.

So far, what he has said and done are not what I want a US President to say and do. And what he's saying he wants to do is not what I want a US President to say he wants to do.

So I'd say, so far, he is not a good President.

Like the many hypocrites before him.
    2. Bullgrit
      I'm not seeing hypocracy.

Which Obama are you talking about? The Obama that is marketed to us or the one that has trouble keeping promises that got him elected?

So far, promises kept out-number the promises broken.

I think he's going through what every president goes through. the bitter losers of the election want him to fail. the winners want things to happen faster than is reasonably possible in our political system. history repeats itself again

We are all losers in any election here in the states (unless you believe that the Dems and Rep's are your only choices). If we want real change we willl have to look somewhere outside of this narrow minded box. I am more bitter about the stupidity of the masses than any election. History has been drastically repeating itself since George W. Bush and if Obama doesn't reverse some of W's policies I could care less if Obama keeps 110% of his promises, he is still a failure.

At least our kids will get to see what a Banana Republic looks like.

I agree any real change would mean a complete overhaul of the two-party system... but even if the revolution happened, it would all come full-circle and wind up a bureaucracy once again. Orwell? Animal Farm? Anyone?

When I said "history," I didn't mean "since the last president." Political circles of this nature have been observed in every culture from ancient Rome to the Mayans to feudal Japan to medieval Europe to modern... um, everywhere, LOL...

I'm King! No, I'm king! But you suck! No, YOU suck! Well, I'll sabotage all your attempts at justice! Well, I'll trash your reputation and take your land! Well I'll get the Pope to excommunicate you so everyone knows God is on MY side! I declare war! No, I declare war! But my opinion on how to rule is the right one! No, MY way of ruling is right!

and on we go until everything explodes...

I understand that there was "history" in the stone ages before the internet, I was talking about the drastic changes that have happened in our country since the last president. It was George W. that brought us classics like the Patriot Act (similar to the Enabling Act of 1933), Homeland Security, preemptive wars, warent-less wire taps, detaining people with out charging them, decriminalizing torture, deploying US troops on American soil, etc. My point was simply that if Obama doesn't change our stance on the war on terror (and I mean radically, not just ending one war) he might as well not even have ran for president.

I'm not saying that healthcare reform and whatever other promises that Obama made would not be improvements to a broken system (though it would still be broken). But, the war on terror is the biggest step backwards for our country. Any future president that does not change our position on the war on terror and terrorism will be a miserable failure in my opinion (wether they are white, black, yellow, red, woman, man, etc). And some sort of revolution would never happen in this country if it hasn't happened already. There are too many ipods, cell phones and kids in balloons floating around for us to even care about our civil liberties. And now with Obama you can see the racists come out of the woodwork, which totally helps ensure that an organized and unified revolution would never happen.

      Power to the Pillownaut ! ! !

I find it hilarious that no one can discuss Obama without comparing him to, or at least talking about, Bush. I wonder if this constant comparison/connection will come to be an annoyance to Obama. For a president to become great, he has to stand out on his own, not just be considered the anti-previous-president.

The power and girls seem to go together. It seems that women are attracted to money and power, where men go by looks more often.

If he wins the battles, he will be a legendary prez.. else a doofus

This is just my point-of-view...I think President Obama is trying to please too many people. I think that's what makes him a good person. I just hope it doesn't backfire.

I just don't understand why he has received the Nobel Peace Prize. I know presidents have a lot on their plates, but there are people who have made bigger strides in being able to receive this reward. I don't think any president has it easy though...he's trying his best. I believe he has the best intentions with the wrong kind of back up. It's not only the president who makes big decisions, so we can't all blame him for the bad stuff... it's hard, because of his promises of "change", but if we can look past the promises and realize that he is only human, we can see it in a different way. I just want to know what he has done to prove he is worth the Nobel Peace Prize----THAT is huge! I like Obama, but come on...
    1. jasonthebaldguy
I think he got the Nobel Peace Prize for not being Bush.. honestly. The international community is taking a breath of relief.

So far, I think he has done his best to be as forthright and as genuine as he can be... maybe I am just naive and don't see it but his efforts at transparency in government seem to be as good as you can expect for the time he has been in office. I don't agree with everything he has done on a personal level but I can understand his choices given the broad and diverse country that we live in.

So far yes, we have to give this man a chance.

    Only time will tell.

The last couple started with blah but quickly went down hill.

Limbaugh, Beck, Hannity, the Birthers and the Death-Panel Republicans all despise Obama. Which means Obama must be doing something right! The same crowd loved Bush, and we know how that turned out.
    1. Bullgrit
"Which means Obama must be doing something right!"

It means Obama must be doing something left.

      Get it? Ha?

*tap tap* Is this thing on?

So far he hasn't prove himself to be a worthy president yet. I am optimistic and I hope his messages and dream will realize sometime soon.
  13. Selvia
I feel if we ourselves are not doing 1% of what Presiden Obama is doing we have no right to comment about him. He is also human trying he level best to make changes. He is not the President of my country but he is a good man
