According to a news report I just watched thats ALL we do - Well BITE ME! Mr Newsreporter - my 'statistics' are - HAPPY, HEALTHY, HILARIOUS, HELPFUL, HARDWORKING, AWESOME LDS-LIVING 'statistics' because that's the choice we made - to not fail - to not give up!! MY KIDS ROCK!! Single for over 5 years and we will continue to survive!

Well, given the fact that anything that is measured and recorded--positive or negative--is a "statistic", I'd have to say yes...like every other family and individual in the world, single parent families are producing statistics.

Sorry! Explain again - he was referring to criminal statistics, statistics that the government will have to pay for eventually in some way!! I know we can't make choices for our children but the implying that all single mothers are neglectful, wasting their money on drinking, drugs, gambling - Im sorry but this guy was an IDIOT!!!

You know what? I'm a single parent and my daughter's friends--many of them from two-parent households--are forever showing up at my door asking for help with their homework, calling me for rides, asking me for advice because they can't get any attention at home.
It would just be silly to pretend that single parenting isn't harder than dual parenting--it takes more than 24 hours a day to both earn a living and provide everything kids need in terms of hands-on participation. But in the end, your kids get out what you put in.
