I have started to collect movies for my kids and have found that they make a lot of sequels for movies (mostly kids movies) Like Land Before Time. Do you think they ruin movies with sequels or do sequels make a better movie?

Some sequels are good and even necessaries but they have to be good by themselves to add to the original story. I didn't like the sequels to the land before time for example, the original is sooo good and it has a good end, the sequels were not necessary. I think that if the story is designed from the beginning to be in part then it is obvious to have sequels. I hated the new transformers movie, it felt forced, not a continuation of the story.

Disney is more animation, but I find a lot of the sequels from Disney forced and more like a way to earn more money. Like the sequel from The Hunchback of Notre Dame, that was a complete new storyline only with the characters of the original animation. Even the graphics weren't that good.
I agree with Deray. Sequels have to be good by themselves and add value to the original story.
