Do you update your blog everyday? I use to but lately I skip a day or two, because if you have a lot of email subscribers that might be an overload for them daily.
what do you do?

I tend to post every other day or so. I don't feel as rushed to write something and don't feel as overwhelmed myself.

I've been messing about with different blogs recently so I haven't posted regularly. Technorati say this about post frequency though, if you're interested:
The Low Authority Group [D-List Bloggers]
(3-9 blogs linking in the last 6 months)
The average blog age (the number of days that the blog has been in existence) is about 228 days, which shows a real commitment to blogging. However, bloggers of this type average only 12 posts per month, meaning that their posting habits are generally dedicated but infrequent.
The Middle Authority Group [C-List Bloggers]
(10-99 blogs linking in the last 6 months)
This contrasts somewhat with the second group, which enjoys an average age not much older than the first at 260 days and which posts 50% more frequently than the first. There is a clear correlation between posting volume and Technorati authority ranking.
The High Authority Group [B-List Bloggers]
(100-499 blogs linking in the last 6 months)
The third group represents a decided shift in blog age while not blogging much more frequently than the last. In keeping with the theme of the maturation of the blogosphere, it seems evident that many of these bloggers were previously in category two and have grown in authority organically over time. In other words, sheer dedication pays off over time.
The Very High Authority Group [A-List Bloggers]
(500 or more blogs linking in the last 6 months)
In the final group we see what might be considered the blogging elite. This group, which represents more than 4,000 blogs, exhibits a radical shift in post frequency as well as blog age. Bloggers of this type have been at it longer – a year and a half on average – and post nearly twice a day, an increase in posting volume of over 100% from the previous group. Many of the blogs in this category, in fact, are about as old as Technorati and we’ve grown up together. Some of these are full-fledge professional enterprises that post many, many times per day and behave increasingly like our friends in the mainstream media. As has been widely reported, the impact of these bloggers on our cultures and democracies is increasingly dramatic.-
It's hard to know what that really means. Sure, there's a correlation, but that doesn't mean there's any causal link. It's not much of a stretch to imagine that people who are posting to their blogs every day are also, on average, making more efforts to promote their blogs. They're also likely more active online in general, which may mean they're leaving more comments on other blogs, which lead directly or indirectly to links counted by Technorati.
There are a lot of other possible factors in play, and many of them have a logical correlation with more frequent posting.

I try for 5 posts/week, Mon--Fri and try to get the post up the evening before. (ie the post that is dated Monday on my blog actually goes up on Sunday night).

I post to my blogs as I get things written. If it's daily, then so be it. If it's a few times a week, then that's what it is.
While I'd love to "up" my ratings, what I write is more important than simply posting for the sake of posting. -

I have 6 Blogs now. I will start posting everyday. The posts will no be a novel, because Bloggers don't like this anyway.

Yup, everyday. It doesn't matter what time I post them; as long as I stick to at least 1 post a day then I'm quite content. =)

I spend too much time posting here. Maybe I should make myself post to the blogs before I visit Social Sites like this one...

I post everyday, but I don't have a lot of traffic so the people that visit my site already have an idea of what to expect.

Doesn't everyone?
Yes, I post daily and at times I hold myself back from posting multiple times per day. Those are the times I write my post and hold it for later. My husband says this is obsessive, I say put-ay-to puh-tah-to. One man's obsession is another man's hobby.

first off I have three blogs that are active. On two of them I don't write much so post is typically a picture or embedded video clip and a few words.
The main blog that typically has some writing takes more thought. I post two or three a week.
Bottom line - blogging should be fun. -
We do double duty and post a daily blog and a daily podcast. They go hand-n-hand. We say on our show (podcast), you get a daily lesson & a laugh in five minutes or so on personal & professional development. It can be very tough sometimes to keep up this schedule, as you mentioned, iriegal, but it also forces us to work ahead! - Mary-Lynn, BIGGSuccess.com
