Do you use link baiting to drive traffic?

Link bait is any feature or content that is very interesting. It could be something creative that has never occured on the interent. The most critical component of any link bait campaign is to generate the desired response - linking! I recent write about it. I want to know if any of you have ever used this method to drive traffic to there blog.
