I use myspace for personal use. I don't have any business or blog links or anything on mine, just part of my crazy life. However I sometimes get friend requests from people who are just trying to promote their business. But I also noticed when I had my status as single all of a sudden I started getting a bunch of requests from guys I didn't know I am only there for friendship, changed my status to in a relationship and it has calmed down

I don't use MySpace anymore, it has become way too commerical and I don't blog for money, just for fun and relationships.

I hear ya. I use myspace for friends. I don't have many friends on there but it is because I am limited to who I accept. All of my friends on myspace except 1 are people I have personally met. 2 of them are very good friends of mine. I would accept a couple of people here that I like something about I mostly blog for fun but my work at home blog is to share info not to hope to make millions with it.

I use MS mostly as my music calendar; I have just over 100 friends, and I'd say that about 80 to 90 of them are bands. I find it's very handy to keep up with who's released what and who's playing where.

As for my real-life friends, I have this fancy device that allows me to stay in touch with them. It's called a "phone". It works well.
I remember at some point, I use to IM some of my friends instead of just ringing them up. How stupid is that? Typing messages to someone who lives a 25 minutes walk away, in a place where local phone calls are free!

My friends and I use it to mess with each other (and other people hehehe) sometimes. But it is also nice to keep in touch with people I don't get to see much with conflicting schedules. That and I am a text message chicky, I don't really like talking on the phone much I prefer to type or hang out with people. I don't have enough time in a day to actually call everybody that texts me

To each their own I guess. A simple glance at my blog will tell you that I'm a chronic victim of verbal (and textual) diarrhea, so I couldn't possibly get anything done if I had to type all the things I say.

I'm with you on the hanging out with people though. At the end of the day, if someone is only a few kilometers away, I try to hook up with them in 3D.
