Have you heard L-Glutathione? They said that this is a New Generation of Skin Whitening in just a few weeks. More details and video explanation at whywomencry.blogspot.com
For me as a guy I do used a Skin Whitening as a Bath soup only and I know to myself that is useful for me. How about L-Glutathione?
Have a nice day!;-)

I believe skin-whitening in itself is more common in Asian countries than in the US, although some cosmetics companies such as Olay have been touting the benefits of lightening and brightening the skin in order to make it look younger. Mostly, in the US, whitening is combined with wrinkle reducers and plumpers with marketing aimed at older women.

As a hobbyist soapmaker, I also dabble in other cosmetics and toiletries so I've had the chance to play around with various cosmetic ingredients in skin lightening products like kojic acid, bearberry extract, Arbutin, Vit.C, Glycolic acid, Salicylic acid, Lactic acid, as well as helichrysum essential oil and licorice root. I've not tried L-Glutathione since I haven't really formulated for about a year. I did a quick search for it at a few supplier websites and didn't find it so perhaps it isn't available in the US or at least not to the home formulator. Yet.

No, I have only heard of skin whitening.

I don´t what my skin to be whiter. I´m a white Swedish woman, spending hours in the sun every summer trying to darken my skin.

It took a *long* time for your page to load. Actually, I gave up before your post appeared.

I think it's bad to want to whiten your skin when dark skin is so attractive!

Alright Thanks for all your sharing and thought about skin whitening. Here in Philippines most people like to have a White Skin because people believes they adds extra attraction to the People. For me It is enough to be a dark person as I am right now. Have a nice day!

Well, it wouldn't make sense on me. Never heard of it either, although it is certainly interesting to learn about.

Many people in the U.S. spend money to stay nice and tan, that is dark. I don't do that either. I am what I am, which is good enough for me.

      stoneman,

I've seen the same thing: people seem to believe that 'something else' would be better.

I suppose it's a case of 'the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence.'

No, I'm more of a self-tanning lotion kind of girl.

Isn't skin whitening bad for you? Besides, please don't buy into those kinds of beauty standards. Beauty comes in all shapes and colours.

For those who are much younger, skin whitening is probably as silly as tanning. For older people who want to look younger, skin whitening is used to lighten the dark discoloration that is associated with aging or pregnancy. In fact, it was during my 4th pregnancy that I developed the "mask of pregnancy" that just never faded after giving birth. And it only got worse with subsequent babies and age.

So yes, I've found that using a serum made with helichrysum essential oil has done wonders to lighten and brighten my skin so it doesn't look as old. I also had good results with kojic acid but I love all the benefits of helichrysum EO.

Anyway, it isn't necessarily about a "beauty standard" although it may in some cultures. For most American women, it's about getting back the skin we used to have. (And please, all you younger ones, use sunscreen! You'll be old and sorry before you know it!)
