1st and second is enough. Now no more...

You know I was just thinking about this...this morning when I got out of bed. And I said to myself , hummm you know I think it's about time we had another world war....come on what are we waiting for people, I mean if I had my way we'd be on like WW69 already ! Are you kidding me with this question ????? seriously
  3. prettyme
    duhhhhhhhhhh! what a question... !
  4. Theresa111
No ... Why? Do you want one?
  5. dosox
    @Katt82..
This is serious.. I'm just fade up of being so peaceful.. I wanna rock wit wars.. So that you @ i will suffer and then the world wil knw wat is meant by PEACE. Lets be a jesus for 3rd world war.. :-)
    1. blogmyblogger
go to Mars and make your own war there
    2. kat822
so you are tired of peace so you want war so we can know what peace is, ok I think you need to take your meds honey

So how exactly do you type wearing that straight jacket??? Me thinks it needs tightening
    3. Kobolito
Try to find professional help. It may work.
    4. makemoneymall
      Hi dosox

I am shock to see that you felt this way.

In a war, everybody will suffer including your family. Do you think this is funny??
  6. dosox
    @therasa111
i want it so that peace wil b more powerful...
    1. wigwam2theorem
This is unquestionably the most insane idea I have ever heard. If there is a WWIII, there may not be any survivors to create a peaceful society.
    2. kat822
wiggy you are such a joy killer lol
  7. fated82
    You think too much!

I dont wanna have another war....Peace it good, keep it that way. There is no need to change what works.

In order to make peace more powerful, we should create world love, not world war.
    1. wigwam2theorem
Actually, he's not thinking at all!
  8. drjay1966
Only if they come up with a cool name for it, along the lines of "Operation Desert Storm" and "Operation Enduring Freedom."
  9. blogonsmog
You know what ole Einstein said: I don't know what weapons the third world war will be fought with but the fourth will be fought with sticks and stones.
  10. thefly
this is probably the most schizophrenic flip flop idea I have seen on the discussion. Its actually making me laugh its so ludicrous, haha.

    buzz buzz
  11. SweetViolet
A world war does not bring about an appreciation of peace...if it did, WWII would never have come about. Instead, war causes hard feelings between nations and their people and creates festering resentments that lead to more war, as the aftermath of WWI led to the rise of Hitler and WWII.

Your whole notion is intellectually and morally bankrupt.
  12. kat822
    It's killing my buzz actually
  13. dosox
Humans are too greedy.. So a war will bring an end to homosapiens.. It will be extinct.. Wow.. And that is what i'm sayin about.. Let my dear animals and plants live peacefully.. Don't worry for humans.. They still have either heaven or hell.
    1. SweetViolet
No they don't, both are figments of the imaginations of certain religious groups.

Nihilism is immature, self-centered, and self-indulgent. It is also supremely arrogant for one person to presume that he, alone, has the ability to decide the proper fate of an entire species.

Perhaps it is time for you to either grow up or get a life and stop trolling...or both.
  14. kat822
well you are right about the trolling sweetviolet
    1. SweetViolet
you mean I'm wrong about the nihilism, kat?
  15. UKLockdown
World war 3 has already started it's been going for a while now.
  16. blogonsmog
Nuke anyone who doesn't want war!
  17. chrisso
I would not want to live in war time...a third world war now would probably mean the end of the world as we know it, too many countries have enough weapons to blow up the planet...
  18. aningeniousname
To paraphrase a Spinal tap review "What day did god make twats? and couldn't he have rested on that day too."
  19. chrissymarie321
This is a truly dreadful topic. I cannot belive that there are people who would EVER support another world war when they can see the dreadful devastation that the last two caused
I truly cannot believe that someone could make such a terrible statement that they wish for a third because they are bored with peace!
I am for the second time since being on blog catalogue totally horrified...
  20. kdawg68
    umm.....no.
  21. globalgirl
What kind of question is this? What wants a third world war? Most of the sane people of the world loathe this idea.

Do you want it to start between India and Pakistan? How do you think this will establish "peace"? Please explain.
  22. kdawg68
I'll expand upon my answer of "no" a bit since things are moving slow today.

No - absolutely not. As the father of one son with another on the way, I'm haunted by the saying "when's the worst time to have a son? 18 years before a war."

If you actually want a world war, I can only guess that you are living in a fantasy world in your mother's basement, surrounded by comic books and anime heroins.

I might ask - what do you know of war? What wars have you studied extensively?

Instead I think it's easier to simply state:

"Be careful what you wish for."
    1. globalgirl
      OH, I like your response.

Anyone who *wants* war needs therapy, to say the least.
    2. MidwestMom
I agree with the fact that no one should *want* war -- ever.

But there is also a mistaken assumption [in this thread, apparently] that we are in a present state of peace.

Just to be devil's advocate (don't you just love that?)...

Russia is rolling over Georgia right now. What if they were to attack all the former Soviet republics in such a systematic fashion? Would it be better to let it happen, or would the EU/US need to take action? In terms of India/Pakistan/Afghanistan/Iran -- isn't the current instability and nuclear status of this region cause for concern? At what point would the rest of the world be in further danger because of it?

I'm no hawk, by any stretch. But I am a realist. To say, "no thanks, peace is just great with me... we'll have another helping of peace, please" is to ignore the reality of what is going on in the world. The people who are being killed right now are no less human than those of us living in industrialized countries with access to the internet... so we should be very cautious about the assumption that the world is currently so peaceful.

[sorry so heavy so early in the day... but it's a heavy topic]
    3. rmaxwell142
Midwest Mom - I agree with you. Just because these conflicts are happening on the other side of the world, doesn't mean they aren't happening. People are still dying.
    4. kdawg68
Oh no doubt - to everything, turn, turn, turn.

My take on that would be that in such situations (such as increased offensive action by the Russian military against nato allies/potential nato allies, or in the case of Saddam vs. Kuwait in '91, or the German invasion of Poland in '39) that war may well be "necessary" yet certainly not "desired" or "wanted." At least it shouldn't be.
  23. nursarahlam
why would anyone wants another war..
  24. chrisso
    Peace is best...
  25. rmaxwell142
Why would anyone WANT a war? I have studied past wars extensively (being a history buff and all) and I can say that I would NEVER want to experience war firsthand and the horrors that go along with it. War is not glorious.

This question actually hits home for me. Just this week, our community here in Boise, Idaho had a tragic event happen. A fire destroyed 10 homes and damaged 9 others, killing one person. This person was a professor at Boise State and a two-time survivor of cancer.

    www.ktvb.com/news/localnews/stories/ktvbn-aug2708-fire_aftermath.19c39685.h...

If this amount of destruction was caused by by people with bombs and the intent of killing people, I couldn't imagine that.
  26. Shiley
This is the nuttiest peice of junk! It takes nuts to think war would solve anything. Watch a Disney movie, listen to the Circle of Life by Elton John, and stop watching TV.
  27. Katanarama
actually, war has solved AT LEAST 95% of all human conflicts. Would we have been able to talk Hitler into stoppijng the Holocaust? NO.

The only wars I havewnt agreed with are the Iraq and Vietnam wars. I agree with all "just" wars [Revolutoinary, WW2, etc], but not a pointless and unwinnable one.
    1. kdawg68
no one's saying that hitler could've been negotiated into inaction (Nevile C. tried, and failed) - but to "want" war is deeply troubling. It means you desire it. It means you'd prefer war over other alternatives.

We want resolution to problems. War is sometimes a necessary application to solve those problems, but it should never be the "desired" or "prefered" path to solution.

We may be splitting hairs here, but I don't think anyone is making the case that all war is unjust or anything like that - just saying it shouldn't be desired (i.e. "wanted").
    2. Katanarama
yeah its not wanted, but it is required most of the time.

the only reason that i would want a war similar to WW2 is to bring the country together in a time of need to defeat a threatening enemy. an entire nation uniting like it did in '41-'45 might never happen again
    3. Kobolito
Adolf Hitler wanted a war, he started a war and the end result was the almost total destruction of Germany and a very large part of Europe. And some 50 million people dead, give or take a few.
I am a descendant of parents who barely survived Hitler's war. To ask for 'who wants war and if not, why' is completely insane. Another deranged kid loose in cyber space.
  28. dosox
yup, i guess i was looking for a simple answer like yours KATANARAMA
  29. ptitpraince
yes i want a 3rd world war but faraway from my home
  30. clioandme
I don't understand the premise of the question.
  31. kat822
    makes two of us
  32. calais50
    Depends...is it free?
  33. historytimes
If history teaches us anything, someone's planning it right now.

    Yikes...
  34. drjay1966
As long as there's better music than that "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy" crap from WWII.
  35. canukgord
There's a book our recently...written by a member of PNAC (the ones who said America "needed" another Pearl Harbour to effect regime change and to fight terrorism)...the book is called WW IV or World War Four.

The author's contention is that the Cold War already represents WW III and that the current 'war on terror' is actually our fourth world war.
  36. acousticguitarist
    oh yes great idea
  37. searchingwithin
I hope to think that no personal citizens wants any war. Only leaders do.
  38. Friday13
Only if it ensures good movies made about it.
  39. sensico
Do I want a 3rd World war? No
Am I ready for one? yes...I'm fully prepared for when a war occurs. Hopefully I will hurry up and become an important scientist, then the government would want to store me in a supersafe bunker cause they can't have the smartest people in America dying in some war. I will be just like in the movies, I also have excellent fight skills I learned while playing video games, so I'm fully prepared to be able to shoot guns and fight off evil soldiers.
  40. DVS
Given that ww3 would almost certainly be nuclear..Id say the peace thereafter would be everlasting. Given that there'd be no bugger left to spoil it. lol
  41. ceo08
I'm saying let's not go the world war route... nothing good would ever come of that.
  42. blitzchamp
    Definitely not
  43. metalheader
...or we can have a fraternity of assassins and decide who dies using a loom haha. -sorry, i just watched that movie the other day lol.

but on a serious note, even though I wouldn't want a war to happen, i know it will happen someday. sadly! and it could most possibly end up nuclear if it doesnt stop.

army's around the world have been way advanced by now. technology and weapons have become better. there would possibly be very few survivors if any at all! :S.

oh well, i'd rather fight in one than die at home. i'd die for a cause than die in hopes of being alive.
  44. reasonablerobinson
A question posed by somebody clearly has no experience of concept of what war entails. ref: reply "i want it so that peace wil b more powerful..." is a rather puzzling unsubstantiated claim. Whilst the question has provoked me and the people above to comment above, you can assume that the comments are implicitly about the inanity of the poser rather than the question itself.
  45. HollytheHousewife
This is a scary question. I don't want a 3rd world war,but it's kinda like we're already there. Do you see what I mean dosox.
  46. HollytheHousewife
You don't. Ok turn on the tv. What do you see? Everything is in chaos. The whole intire world. al Quita, iraq, palestine,Isreal, hamas, syria, america, great britan,(in Iraq),darfur,N.korea, the congo, afganistan,! Now do you see what I mean. Kinda scary huh? Oh yea don't forget about how divided we are right here in the usa.
  47. Achyut
If there is a third one, it will be the last for sure..it will not be possible to survive after that..or even if some life survives, it will not be capable of much leave alone another war.
  48. neoauteur
I don't know a single sane person who wants war.
  49. wehireu
Plenty of people live for war. They want to show their warrior ethic. Prove themselves under fire. That being said,no a third world war would not be good. The possible unconventional weapons, biological, chemical, nuclear, electromagnetic, pharmacological and other are truly terrifying.
  50. vijayanths
Any social conscious person would never want 3rd world war.A few greedy(on power, religion etc) persons are the real cause for all these troubles.

    Am I ready?

When my princess sensico is fully ready ,why should I bother?
her eyes alone can destroy the largest army of the world in seconds. She has more weapons more dangerous than the nuclear.Dosox, would you agree with me?
    1. mpbabaji
      Well said vijayanths.
  51. scheng1
This subprime crisis is worse than a war. The emotional impact from job loss, the financial impact from recession already makes so many countries poor. Maybe the rich countries in Middle East are ready to launch "acquisition" war soon and soak up all the assets.
  52. HalfCrazy
Why the ef would I want a third world war? Who wants it?
