   When I was in college I spent like a year without cable, and so being the nightowl that I am, there came an hour where that was the only thing to watch. I was always amused at how they exagerate the supposed problem the product is intended to solve.

      I have several friends who don't own tv's, they keep up with what is going on in the world via the internet (better than tv really).

   yup and yup but I cut my buying down to rarely. I own too many way cool toys that I don't use but someday I might want to use so it's good that I own them!

   Nope, keep forgetting to have cable hooked up to watch any TV. I don't miss it enough to get cable (have 2 TV's sitting idle with video games and DVD player.) Not interested in anything on TV that is not stock news, makes me laugh or is in horror category anyways.

    I find the products rubbish..
    but my father once bought a Sauna belt from an infomercial.. it cost him quite a bit, but he got an electric shock from it on the first use.. he hasn't watched another infomercial ever since

    If you consider, QVC, Shop NBC, and all the other shopping channels infomercials then yes I am forced to watch them with my wife. I have never bought anything from these "people". My wife on the other hand has put their children through college.

    Most people don't buy them from responding to the infomercials, they just go to Bed Bath and Beyond and pick up the products themselves. Plus, the 20% coupons there never hurt.
