Kinda. I sometimes express my opinion on issues that require me to cite facts that most people deny exist.

I often find myself writing about things that people would prefer to ignore...social inequality/injustices, sexism, the damaging effect of religion etc.

SiuilARuin, i have to say your blog blew my mind. Your views are amazing and insightful. Everything is so well articulated and the points very reasonable. I might not agree with all your views but im definitely gonna be a regular on your site.
  4. ladylyf
VoodooKobra, there is no kinda about it. You write on issues people dont want to talk about in a way people are not ready to accept. But i love it! You are really really good!
    1. voodooKobra
      Thank you.

I can see why you tag yourself a troublemaker, buddhaofhollywood, You Are! In a delightfully thought provoking way. Looking forward to reading more.

    definitively.
  7. ArsenicCookies
One of the blogs I work on tackles racism head on, but to do that it honestly lists where the editors came from be it KKK roots or part of the black pride movement. Some visitors do not appreciate the honesty and fail to see the larger picture that open dialogue can create. Without honesty, there is no progress.
  8. ladylyf
harveyavatar, you are a genius! Your articles enthralled me. The way you play with words is amazing. I love them all. Divorce, Talent, Indiffernce, i can go on and on. You just got one more addicted follower!
    1. harveyavatar
      Ladylyf,

I must say this is quite flattering. Without boasting, my talent is a confluence of sources: love of words, dedication, natural abilities, God given superior intelligence.... NO WAIT, I'm only the translator - Harvey!

      Glad you are enjoying it!
  9. ladylyf
Casey, i left a comment on your site that says all i feel. You are a woman to be admired! Im definitely coming back for more.

Sometimes, I got hit by a virus and malware today in a kind of one two punch and I am writing about it right now.

Yes. Women who fall in love with convicted criminals. Although my blog is satire, it's been reported that there are countless women who write men in prison with marriage proposals, etc. I heard we're not allowed to post links to our blogs here, so check it out under my profile!
  12. annz
I don't write about it as often these days, but I do talk about infertility, which is one of those things that people change the subject on when it comes up in conversation.
  13. jackpayne
My Con Man's Blog is set up to expose their antics, tactics, monkey business and shenigans.
A new identity theft occurs every 3 seconds. Everybody has friends, family, or knows somebody who has been hit by identity theft, America's fastest growing crime. Yet, interest in my subject matter--which should be universal and intense--only gets limited interest.

    Never could understand it.

I think a lot of people don't like writing about work related stuff for fear of losing their job, but I don't think I worry about it because I don't talk about specific people, and I don't talk about specific incidents (e.g. "OMG I hate my boss! Today my boss Mark asked me to run a report and I told him to do it himself!!!"). I also don't venture into industry or company-specific issues... it's just a humorous take on the corporate life in general
  15. foodhere
Absolutely. People think that the world of convenience store operation is all fast money, easy women and free flowing dairy but its not....there is the gritty underside and that's what i expose. The long hours, the social isolation, the ignorance, the abuse....the stupid customers who spend 45 minutes choosing between juicy fruit and spearmint...
    1. sensico
I dont know, I was reading one time that you apparently lost your shirt and underwear...seems like you were having a fun time

though, I actually didn't read the WHOLE blog post, just scanned it
    2. foodhere
I try to enjoy. Underwear never did turn up by the way so if you find a pair, give me a shout...don't blame you on the scan...I did the same and I wrote it
  16. LisaNYC
    "Free flowing dairy" LOL

When's the next letter. Scott must be getting lonely?
  17. SpiritualBloggers
The common thread that we all have here is that we're bloggers. After that, its anyone's game so I like to be really open minded about what people choose to write about.

Sometimes I write about things people might shy away from or not understand. I like to keep my articles a mix that still pertain to my genre. Having said that, I think pushing the boundaries for any blogger is good. That's when you really start finding out what you're made of.

robinj, 'Binded by Niceness' is great. You are right about us stopping to ask why we do supposedly nice things. I admit im also one of the spokes who most times do things to feel good. Its a lesson indeed.
  37. melindaville
Yes--I talk about childhood sexual abuse, heroin addiction, prostitution and all kind of gnarly things. blog.melindaville.com
    1. ladylyf
Melinda, i checked out your blog and as i read the recent post, i immediately decided this was not a blog to rush through. It is a journey to start from the very first post. I do some volunteer work with children who have been sexually abused and many times i am so lost on what to do to help. I have already mailed your link to other co-volunteers. I admire your courage. Thank you so much for writing about your life.

Sure. I talk about innocence, challenging the conventional wisdom concerning it.

Lynnea, your blog just got a new follower. Innocence is one important thing we should have, yet many have lost. I hope i can find mine and maintain it through your writings.
    2. LynneaUrania
Loss of innocence isn't the permanent thing people make it to be. I't always recoverable and needs to be cultivated.

      Thanks for reading.

It was very interesting to read somewhere that witchcraft (Wicca) is a religion and worships nature. People following Wicca treat sick people with herbs.

Crystal, your blog promises to be interesting. A real live witch?! lol. Jokes apart, im very interested in knowing more so that means following your blog.

I would say that often the answer is YES. People in general is not open to discuss about the fact that we're continously manipulated with illusions, in order to not look at the infinite love that's inside our beings.
    1. ladylyf
@toaquarias, interesting! your blog is very interesting!
  42. Bushexplorers
We blog about Female Masturbation which is always a topic that people are uncomfortable with talking about. In coversation we are happier talking about having sex and shy away from the subject of masturbation.

  44. Sebastyne
From time to time yes. I used to be quite good at saying things people rarely dared to think about without feeling guilty. Like "beautiful girls like to hang out with handsome boys and they have a right to." (Or worse yet; "I think I'm beautiful". That's something that nobody wants to hear.) Now I keep to subjects like God's narcissistic personality disorder, insulting some kings, gods and business owners, BDSM and the sort.

@sebastyne, i like that you speak your mind with no apologies (your profile). it is refreshing. the twitter post is very informative, harry nicolaides story made me angry and hazard of social networking made me smile. you have a wonderful tongue-in-cheek way of writing. i love it
    1. ladylyf
@acousticguitarist, the pope has not declared you wanted yet?! lol. Seriously, though, i think more people need to be aware of your blog. Iv forwarded the link to some friends. its not an issue to keep quiet about. whether people want to hear it or not, we should shout it out. its happening, its real and its hurting innocents!

Do You Write About Things People Shy Away From?

Yes, I do but only in my "private" blog so neer, neer, neer, neer neer ... I'm not posting a link.
Said in fun - please do not be offended.
    1. ladylyf
@timethief, 'what excess in your life will you prune in 2009' got me thinking. I simply paused and thought about the excesses in my life. the major one is saying yes to people anytime they need help and whenever i manage to say no, i spend hours feeling guilty and worrying about the person. very soon, im sure im gonna add BC to things i need to prune. i spend too much time here already and i just joined! lol
    2. timethief
      @ladylyf
I'm primarily a blogging tips blogger, but I'm happy to hear you have found my personal blog. You will find post on controversial topics in it.

'Obama not the first black president' is indeed something people dont want to talk about or even know. It interferes with our euphoria of the moment. I think you fir right in here. I love your article on blacks so much. Thanks for writing from a new refreshing perspective.
  46. windroot
The things that I write about (politics, religion, and maybe science) aren't things that people shy away from. What's really hard for me to write about are the personal things I don't want to think about. Are we ever ready to face those demons from childhood?

    www.windroot.com/everyman/archives/lefthand.htm
    1. ladylyf
Windroot, i went through your 'dealt a bad hand'. My younger brother is left handed and as africans, my folks were pretty upset because africans have a lot of superstitious beliefs about it. They tried to force him to use his right hand and it started affecting his physical balance. I read up on it and got them to leave well alone. He's all grown up now and doing very well and he's still left-handed! Nice post.
    2. windroot
Did some research on your point about African attitudes towards left-handers and came across this piece. Thought you might be interested.

Luckily for me I was left alone as it were, although I did go through most of my early school years with an ink-smeared left palm.
  47. TheArchon
    Yes.

Few people want to accept that life is constant need, incompleteness, and war; that all progress and achievement requires pain and suffering, and is built on inequality and competition; that all life is rooted in selfish action (self-perpetuation); that it is conflict that gives rise to all strengthening; that self-discipline and strict training characterize the path to flourishing.

People, in general, don't want to hear that they need to suffer to become actualized and strong, or that some are superior to others at existence as a phenomenon of life. They cannot handle suffering, and, in most cases, they subconsciously intuit that they are inferior, and so are repulsed by superiority/inferiority comparisons, which reveal their quality.

People only want to believe what comforts them and makes them feel good, and validates their emotionally-driven desires, hopes, ideals, and values. Weakness, in this era, is the rule. Hence the widespread belief in loving, caring entities/realities, like the Judeo-Christian God, or "The Secret".

Only the few, the courageous, can accept the indifferent nature of physical reality, and the brutal nature of existence within it. It is, therefore, only these people that will master it.

    Domination, through control.
    1. ladylyf
Helloooo! I am female! Your article on 'Feminine Deception' is exposing our tactics. so please away with it! lol! i love it! You found us out. But please dont reject us. Its not our fault men are so gullible and susceptible to us. think of us as necessary evils. lol. check out my post
      ladylyf.wordpress.com/2009/01/20/the-other-woman/
to learn more about our manipulations. 'Suffering' is very enlightening. Keep it up
    2. TheArchon
I reject females, because they, in general, do nothing but drag me down and leech my resources. It is only irrational drives- such as the sex drive -that compel any male to seek the average female, who has nothing to offer in terms of intellectual companionship and physical rivalry. From a rational perspective, females generally give nothing of value in return.

Your "please don't reject us" is yet another example of feminine emotional manipulation tactics, if you were not being sarcastic.

Only weak, effeminate males are "gullible and susceptible" to females. Masculine males, with their higher quality, degree of self-control, and rational understanding, are free and independent of their female counterparts, and can resist their animalistic temptations. But civilization has minimized the number of such males, through genetic selection and cultural training.

To the average male, the female is confusing and indecipherable. But the reality is that females are one of the simplest things to figure out. With some observation and reasoning, their motivations, desires, and patterns can easily be deciphered. I know most females I encounter better than they know themselves.

Did I ever say females were at fault?

An idea of "fault" implies responsibility. Females, in general, lack the degree of conscious awareness and self-control of themselves to have responsibility. They are not at fault. They are products of their environmental and genetic programming.

"Necessary evils"? Necessary for what? Reproduction? Yes. Self-development? Companionship? No.

As for your post: perhaps, if I read it, and I find anything worth commenting on, I will share my thoughts on it.
    3. TheArchon
"Most important of all, his ego. Stroke his ego. Massage his ego. He is a man. Make him The Man! Don’t challenge his authority openly. Twist him round your little finger but let him believe he’s the Don calling the shots."

This reference is the perfect demonstration of an inferior male, and of feminine deception and parasitic leeching of the effeminate male's resources. The female deceives the inferior male into believing he is masculine and dominant, so as to maintain his investment and leech his economic and social resources. (It is effeminate males, who more readily submit to a higher authority, such as God or the state, that are most successful in modern systems and economies.)

This faked dominance relation is an attempt to mirror past, pre-civilized male-female relations, before males were emasculated to the degree they are now. The female pretends her emasculated male partner is "the man", when he is, in reality, orders of magnitude less masculine than males tens of thousands of years ago, a mere caricature of his forefathers.

It is the superficial imitation of what has atrophied.

Females believe they are in control, the ones with the real power, when it is only the weak male, who is basically a female with a penis, that they have mastered. A female could never control a masculine male. She will submit to such a man genuinely and automatically. She will absorb her ego and identity into his own.

TheArchon: Of all the wars and battles that exist, in a war between genders, both sides loose. Ain't no winning this one (smile)
  48. ladylyf
lol. MarMatthias, may i ask if you have been able to get any woman to 'submit to such a man{you}genuinely and automatically. She will absorb her ego and identity into his{your}own'?
    1. MarMatthias
Yes, start by being friends and take all the time needed to truly learn about her and most importantly, consider her your equal..

My blog might address some issues that people would shy away from too.
  52. rcal4848
Lol people want to assassinate me because of my blog. They shake with wanting death.
  53. Spirituality
I don't shy away from controversial topics no, though with policy.
  54. GJS
I think that people write about those topics in a blog is because it's not the same as having the same discussion face to face with someone. It's a "safe" place to state your opinion on stuff. At least that's how I see it.
  55. petchatter
Sometimes. The post that got the most negative feedback was questioning whether animals mind that we eat them.

    petchatter.com/communication/to-eat-or-not-to-eatmeat/

I discuss death from time to time. There's a lot of denial on that topic. Search for die on my site and you'll get the idea. Letting Pandas go extinct, you can imagine how popular that was!

JMHO, there's nothing special about virgins.
  56. nothingprofound
No, people like my writing. I'm the one they shy away from.
  57. jeremyjanson
Absolutely. Everything from debates people don't want to have (the Confederate Flag, Sexism, Patriotism are a few recent ones) with viewpoints they don't want to hear to stories about our government, culture and politics that are truly ghastly in their implications.

  58. victoriahart
Yes, I think so anyway. I blog about chronic ptsd, murder, illness, struggles, love and how to move on..most of the time it is dramatic because it is real. So far, people has thanked me for speaking about the topics I've chosen. That makes it all worth it.
