I hate going to the doctor. It's not because I dislike my doctor, although I think she needs a litle help in the small talk category, I simply can't stand the office policies. For some effing reason you can't schedule a physical in advance you have to call at 7:30AM the day you would like to go. Can I scream inconvenient. I would but I won't. And to add insult to injury the last time I was there she kept trying to counsel me about the evils of smoking, newscast lady I don't smoke. How the hell did that get in my "electronic chart?" My final pet peeve, no I don't want you to e-mail me my test results....hello hackers!!!!
Yes I hear everyone screaming get another doctor's office but the last time I tried that the new office lost my blood work and accuse me of not having it drawn when I kept calling to ask about it. It's something about paying the balance to Labcorp that proved their no blood drawn theory wrong.
So anyway I want to know if anyone else has had "issues" with doctor's office?
Please share the horror.

I'm sure there are worse stories than this, but here's mine. When I was pregnant, I went to a dr. appointment. I waited in the office for about 2 hours. Finally, I asked a nurse if they forgot about me. The nurse said the dr. had gone to the hospital to deliver a baby. And they couldn't have told me that????

I have chronic joint pain and exercise-induced asthma. As a result, exercise is not high on my list of things to do and over the years I have put on weight.
With the advent of new medications, my primary care physician sent me to a rheumatologist to get a work up and hopefully some medications for my joints so I could embark on at least a mild exercise regimen.
I went to see the doctor who, within ten minutes, had reduced me to tears. He screamed and shouted and called me names and said he wouldn't waste his time on me until I lost some weight because that was why my joints hurt. He refused to hear that I was only 120 lbs when the joint problems started at age 28 (and my father has had arthritis since he was also 28). He refused to let me leave the examining room until he had finished his shouting.
I didn't stop at the reception desk on the way out and when they sent me a bill I sent it back saying I would pay just as soon as I had a written apology from the doctor. I never heard from them again.-
Yah, he was a piece of work. His office tried later to bill my insurance for at least partial payment and when they sent me a letter about it, I wrote back and told them what he did. I suggested they not pay him since he did not provide the service of examining me and prescribing meds, which is what my PC physician sent me for. I never heard anything more about it.

I've stopped going to the doctor, myself (for too many reasons to list here.) It's just not worth the hassle here in the US. Next time I need a doctor I'll go back to Canada, where I'll be seen quickly, treated effectively & not charged a damned thing.
