I've seen various people puting up a disclaimer on their blog.
The basic objective of a disclaimer is protecting you and your blog from the world of litigation and prosecution. I've put one at my blog too.

But is a blog disclaimer really necessary?
I mean a blog (read web log) is just a log of personal events, thoughts and opinions. Why should it bother anyone?
What say?

Do you review products or services in exchange for cash or products or services?
If so IMO then 'yes'.
Do you get paid to write blog posts?
If so IMO the answer is 'yes".
Do you edit comments you receive before posting them?
If so IMO then 'yes'.
The content you write, and the comments your readers write, are all on your blog and therefore, you have a measure of responsibility over anything that appears on your blog. You control what appears on your blog so make sure it speaks well for you. lorelle.wordpress.com/2006/09/18/editing-your-blog-comments/
