I've been experimenting with video on some of my sites. Does anyone else do that and if so how do you incorporate video in your site? Do you use your own videos or videos you find on youtube?

For a while I used my own digital camcorder until I got a Flip Video which is really cool. So much so, that I decided to give away a Flip Video camera on my site to promote my site's launch. It's really easy to enter, I am surprised I've only got one entry so far and these things are so great.

Here's the contest entry page:

My site is filled with video, but I do not create the video's myself (yet). The way I use them is just to embed the video in the text. That is the technical side of it. But in essence they are used (1) to enhance the text, or (2) to act as a hanger for a text to be written or (3) just to show something humorous.
    Example of (1) www.blogbert.nl/2008/12/heino-siebzig.html
    Example of (2) www.blogbert.nl/2009/01/sky-in-motion.html
    Example of (3) www.blogbert.nl/2008/12/stroent.html

Enjoy and good luck with your sites and the video!

Keep adding video to your blog. I've found that people who read my blogs like the mixture of video and text. Plus sometimes you can just tell a story better with pictures than with words.

Also think about creating video content that will direct people to your website or blog.

Video is a great media to use. I have used You Tube.

I use You Tube too. It's an amazing resource for us when real estate developers put promo video on You Tube. If we have a news story - it makes a great illustration.
