Well for years there have been negative stereotypes associated with the black man therefore some women were advised by their peers to stay away from us.(Therefore arousing the curiosity and increasing the danger)things that turn women on. But now that we have a black president is some of the mystic gone? Do women still find us attractive?

I am playing the sad song on the violin. You should count your lucky stars if a woman likes you for the content of your character instead of the outer package.

Although there's a lot of competition in online forums, I think you may have managed to post the silliest thing I've ever seen.

And I think the word you're looking for is "mystique".

I'm a black man and this stereotype is news to me.

If I see a dude and he's so unfortunate looking, he's practically deformed, it wouldn't matter if he's the same colour as the Big Boss Man or not....I'd still think he's ugly.

Our Prime Minister is white...but that doesn't change the fact that the white Financial Controller at my work is ugly as sin.

So I must answer your question with a big, resounding NO.

What negative stereotypes would that be?

I don't think there is a taboo with black men in general as much as a certain TYPE of black man...and certain TYPE of man in general. That would be the thug or dependant. I think anywoman worth her vagina knows that if they see a man taking care of business, with a good head on his shoulder, not to pass him up just because he shares the same pigmentation as men who might be a bad idea to date...

I say any sterotypes put out on any of us, black white or purple...are a god sent...it weeds out all the ignoramouses in the world.

'any woman worth her vagina' I love that. It's true, it is worth something!

I'd say no. I don't really know what you're trying to say though, but still, no.

People are going to like/be attracted to whomever they like/are attracted to regardless. If someone is not attracted to youf or whatever reason, I'm assuming their reasons aren't going to be changed because of one person. Don't think the president has anything to do with it.

I doubt it. Also, typically, President Obama is not a black man but mixed between black and white.

Anyway, getting back on topic, I don't think any mystery will be gone. If women want to be with dangerous men, either black or white, they can find them on the 10 o'clock news.

I agree with AroundTheWayGirl. To me, skin color is just a preference just like hair or weight, but either way, its usually the personality that makes the difference. No change in attraction happened because of one person. It'd be like saying: "are you less attracted to brunettes because one became president?" I've always found any really buff man attractive no matter the color. *blush*

"Does having a Black President make Black men more attractive?"
If their pants are hanging down and are not conducting themselves correctly, I would have to say...NO!

    FYI...i'm Black too!

It doesn't matter who the president is. If you are ugly, you are ugly.

I am a black man and this is the first time that I have heard this. The president has nothing to do with black man and how women are attracted to them.

Obama's presidency has definitely made me more attractive to the spiders in my house. And I have the spider bites to prove it.

      omg Spiders??? Spider Bites??
      That's just creepy!
      haha.

Fine women are generally attracted to fine men, whether black or white. So what's the problem? I guess you're fine and noble, too.

I dont think having a white president for all of these years did anything to make me attractive... but then again... I am pretty hopeless I guess lol.

I think if you have been using your race to reinforce negative stereotypes and somehow making that work as a dating strategy you have wound yourself up in a bad web. Maybe having the President be of your own race(at least partly) will help raise your self esteem and allow you to try to focus on attracting women to you for your less superficial qualities. Or perhaps you will start to develop the attributes that are more than skin deep.

Obama is Attractive. But the fact that he is a president, does not make all black men attractive LOL

i'm sorry, i had to laugh. the election of a moron like Obama is not going to suddenly draw me nearer or further away from black men. A man's character, phsyical appearance, etc.... ok and sex....is what draws me to him - not who the President happens to be!
