Well for years there have been negative stereotypes associated with the black man therefore some women were advised by their peers to stay away from us.(Therefore arousing the curiosity and increasing the danger)things that turn women on. But now that we have a black president is some of the mystic gone? Do women still find us attractive?

If I see a dude and he's so unfortunate looking, he's practically deformed, it wouldn't matter if he's the same colour as the Big Boss Man or not....I'd still think he's ugly.
Our Prime Minister is white...but that doesn't change the fact that the white Financial Controller at my work is ugly as sin.
So I must answer your question with a big, resounding NO. -
I don't think there is a taboo with black men in general as much as a certain TYPE of black man...and certain TYPE of man in general. That would be the thug or dependant. I think anywoman worth her vagina knows that if they see a man taking care of business, with a good head on his shoulder, not to pass him up just because he shares the same pigmentation as men who might be a bad idea to date...
I say any sterotypes put out on any of us, black white or purple...are a god sent...it weeds out all the ignoramouses in the world. -
I agree with AroundTheWayGirl. To me, skin color is just a preference just like hair or weight, but either way, its usually the personality that makes the difference. No change in attraction happened because of one person. It'd be like saying: "are you less attracted to brunettes because one became president?" I've always found any really buff man attractive no matter the color. *blush*

Obama's presidency has definitely made me more attractive to the spiders in my house. And I have the spider bites to prove it.

I think if you have been using your race to reinforce negative stereotypes and somehow making that work as a dating strategy you have wound yourself up in a bad web. Maybe having the President be of your own race(at least partly) will help raise your self esteem and allow you to try to focus on attracting women to you for your less superficial qualities. Or perhaps you will start to develop the attributes that are more than skin deep.
