If it doesn't I've got a webcam for you: Small Town America: Minnesota ( smalltownamericaminnesota.blogspot.com/2008/12/white-christmas-here-we-come... ).
Now that I've plugged my blog, the question:
Does it snow where you live?
If it does, is it a rare event, or something you deal with every winter?

I live in Michigan and snow is commonplace here every winter. I like having all four seasons and in general I like the snow, except for when I have to drive in it lol...
-
Yup, living in New England means snow, rain, ice, sleet, slush, and lots and lots of sand/salt on the streets
Of course, the weather does change every five minutes or so
-
I'm in RI, so we get a lot of snow and other crappy weather. I like to be able to drive to see snow and then to drive away from snow.
-
I'm from Singapore & i soo wish i'm from somewhere else -- where snow falls.
The only seasons we have here are just the everlasting summer & occasional monsoon.
Is snow fun?-
Fun?
Yes! For example:- Making and playing with
- Snowmen
- Snow forts
- Snowballs
- Winter sports, like
- Skiing
- Downhill
- Cross-country
- Hiking in snowshoes
- Making snow sculptures (a sort of semi-serious, grown-up, way of making snowmen)
- Sitting inside, wearing a warm sweater and drinking something hot, looking through a window at the sparkling snow
- Skiing
- Shoveling the driveway
- Driving on compacted snow and ice
- When the car starts spinning, you've got trouble
- Walking through drifts or deep snow
- Great exercise, but inconvenient at best
- Making and playing with

I live in Ontario, Canada. We had about 6 inches or more overnight. Everyone is busy this morning clearing the snow away, to get out and about.

Uh hum yes it does and I have the proof
www.abart-temperament.blogspot.com. It doesn't happen that often, I don't mind it on days I don't have to go out to work. I've had customers ask me why I wasn't at market when the snow was really deep! If I didn't have to negotiate the icy roads to get there am sure i would love to stand out in subzero temps. (not.) -
No there is no snow here

It snowed last night but it looks like the sun is coming out, so hopefully it will melt from the sidewalk and I won't have to shovel.

It snows sometimes around Paris, but the snow rarely stays, though I've seen it happen. Today it snowed heavily for a couple of hours but vanished fast enough.

Not out here in southern california. It's kinda bitter today, but still good weather. Last night it was chilly, still good though.
However, I grew up in the mountains of Pennsylvania, always snowed out there. The only way to chase it was with cans of natural ice.-
"Chilly" is a relative term.
One winter, when I lived in San Francisco, it was chilly - by my standards. So, I put on a cap and a windbreaker before walking to the bus stop.
On the way, I passed someone wearing a parka: one with a snorkel hood. He (I think it was a he - hard to tell under the parka, thick pants, and boots) had his hands in his pockets.
And, the snorkel extended.

No. I have just moved from a snowy place to a no snow zone. Christmas here is definitively different. Santa probably have to wear short sleeve over here.

Where's "here?" I glanced through your blog and home page and found engaging copy and quite good photos - and a reference to "windy city" and buses.
It snows in Chicago, so you must be in another windy city - one that has buses. That doesn't narrow the field all that much.
Thanks for the comment, BTW.

It's rare where I live now (near New Orleans,) but I used to live in the "snow belt" near Buffalo, NY (which is why I now live near New Orleans!)

Yes Boston mean snow and I can't wait to see the chairs, bed springs, toilet bowl
and whatever else they use to protect their dug out parking spaces.
It sure doesn't do a thing for our property value when I look out my window
to see toilet bowls everywhere.
I hate that the most and ice, which I have to be careful of not to fall and crack my head open.
I have seen some nasty spills where a man broke his leg on some ice.
Dr Atkins (the Atkins diet guru) died a few years ago, when he slipped and fell on some ice
and cracked his head open. If that didn't happen he probably would still be with us today. -

Unlike you the negatives outweigh the positives when it comes to the effects of snow in my life. I've been there and I did all that stuff you list above for years on end, when I lived in 40 below temperature zones.
It rarely ever snows on the coast in the rain shadow zone that I live in. When it does it usually melts away in short order. When it doesn't melt away quickly it's the harbinger of trees falling over power lines, electricity outages and car crashes. The roads here are 1 lane in each direction, they have huge changes in elevation, blind corners, hairpin turns, and series of switchbacks. The surfaces are not up to city standards and in most cases there are either very narrow shoulders or none at all.
I had many years of fun in the snow when I lived in other provinces and states in the past, but I can't say that I miss it much at all now. I enjoy seeing pictures of snow and ice. But I don't enjoy shoveling snow or coping with ice, or any of the other consequences of the snowfall. -
I live in central Arizona, our winters are very mild - 60s & 70s, but on rare ocassions the cacti get snow capped. Just and hour or so to the north of me is Flagstaff - a ski area.

I live in Ohio and yes it snow here. Got to deal with it every year. I hate the winter here, i hate the snow and shoveling outside. We don't have a garage so we park on the drive way and sometimes the car will be buried by snow and that's what i hate most. clearing the snow from the car and dealing with freezing temperature sometimes below freezing.

I live in Kathmandu. It doesn't snow here generally but did last year after 60 years. Snow was not that much great thing for me. I mean I have touched and seen already but for some people here that moment was their life's dream of seeing snow come true.
However, in Jiri from where I origionally am from, it snows every winter. It has aleady started to snow there. -
No, thank goodness. Three years in the Boston area permanently cured me of any desire for/illusions about snow!
I live in South Africa, near the beach, and we have summer 9 months of the year, and soggy wet winters. That's as cold as I ever want to be again!
Where are you in MN? My father's family is originally from there. Meeker Co. -
In Italy, in my town Padua it's raining, but i know that in the Alpes there are 1.50 metres of snow... look at this webcam in Alto Adige www.meteoindiretta.it/scheda_webcam.php?id_webcam=1352

I live in Ontario, Canada. We're almost as far south as one can get in Canada, so we do get quite a bit of snow, but not as much as those much farther north. This year we started getting snow in November, but yesterday it rained most of the day. Usually we have snow that actually lasts from around mid-December to the end of February.

We are very thankful that it doesn't. I don't know how people live in snow. I was born in Des Moines, and the last time I visited, it was full of snow - scary for a non-snow resident to drive in that stuff! Sort of fun to walk on the fresh stuff, but not so much on the icy stuff..... Kauai today is very, very windy and we do have a lot of rain. That is why it is so green though.... sorry about that.

It snows everyday here and I absolutely despise it. I cannot even put it into words how much I hate snow! Out of the 10 million reasons why here are 10, not in any order.
1- I hate being in incredible danger every time I drive.
2- I hate frozen locks and windows on my car everyday, which breaks the key or window every so often.
3- Getting flat tires, sometimes bent rims because of the crazy massive potholes everywhere. And all the other extensive/expensive damage caused by the constant barrage of potholes on the road.
4- Not seeing the sun for weeks and then being blinded when it does come out because of the reflection off the snow.
5- Having to go through a cycle of cold and wet shoes and socks to frozen shoes and socks over and over all day, everyday.
6- scraping ice off my car every time I want to drive anywhere.
7- I just don't like being cold, or cold and wet.
8- getting frozen hair in the morning.
9- numb and then hurting nose and fingers every time I pump gas.
10- The over all dismal lack of color everywhere.
This is just 10 reasons off the top of my head, not my top ten. There are countless more reasons I dislike snow. b/w I live in GrandRapids Michigan. We get whats called "lake effect snow" which means it snow literally everyday. I can close my eyes and hope that someday I will be able to move away from the snow, someplace where I will never have to see it ever again in my life. I get a smile on my face just thinking about it. -
