Surely the pope has more important things to worry about other than some aging pop star looking for attention. I still remember when she first came on the scene, she's always been light on talent and heavy on tactics. I say ignore. Why give her any credibility.

I don't believe a word of anything on your site - when your source is cited like this:

YES ... I SEE IT NOW - THAT IS SOOOOOOOOOOOOO WRONG
Your title should retain the permalink, and you might want to consider to stop using the plugin or script you have to scrape other people's content - be it yahoo or not.

Superstar Madonna has been branded "disrespectful" by Catholics after dedicating her risque song Like A Virgin to The Pope at a recent live show.
The controversial singer, who comes from a devout Italian Catholic family but now follows the Kabbalah faith, dedicated her 1984 hit to Pope Benedict XVI at the Rome, Italy stop on her Sticky + Sweet world tour on Saturday.
She told the crowd: "I dedicate this song to the Pope because I'm a child of God. All of you are also children of God."
The Italian media called the dedication to the pontiff a surprising provocation, with Catholics insisting the remark was "disrespectful".

So she's a scraper? byxspeaks, as a good Catholic you should be thoroughly ashamed of yourself for taking a stand against Madonna when copyright theft is every bit as bad. Right now imagine some guy shouting obscenities at you for being the type of Christian who lives by some of the gospel and not others. Frankly you should be banned from BC, .... off and don't go preaching around here again.
-
@byxspeaks, scraping is just wrong, forget about being a better scraper, what you should be doing is writing your own posts, with your own ideas, and then linking to the source. Your attitude here makes me think you are a hypocrite, and frankly I think you're only a Christian when it's convenient or you feel offended by something. Time to wake up and realize that copyright theft is still theft. Be ashamed and show some remorse, then maybe you'll get more sympathy.

I agree with DMonkey, Pope Benedict has got more important things or issues to confront. Madonna is Madonna, she earns a living by creating controversies like that for PR purposes.

no. she has a right to her opinion, just as the pope has a right to his, and people have a right to not like what either of them have to say.
Ps. scraping and copying the entire content from another source is copyright infringement. Just because you provided a source link doesn't protect you. You can get your blog shut down if any of the sources of your copied content files DMCA complaints. -
Apologizing is not for pop stars nor for popes. Both of them think they're sooo important, so powerful that the world is at their feet. Yes they have the right to say what they feel, but I don't think any of them would apologize.
Anyway, anyone can be or feel "like a virgin" too, and dedicate songs to popes or presidents (only to get attention).
See you... nice people here -

Does one like Madonna, a mentally unbalanced and narcissistic offensive person, have the ability, the emotional intelligence, to apologize for their misdeeds?
I doubt it.
Her actions are quite calculated and intentional. She is offensive and loves it.
BTW, byxspeaks, you have lost all respect for copying and pasting your post.-
GG, I definitely agree that Madonna is a negative influence, but does that mean she's a wackjob, or just that she has different priorities than some of us? It seems to me that she has orchestrated every step of the past thirty years to achieve exactly what she wanted. That doesn't sound like insanity to me.
-
Emotional intelligence is an oxymoron. You have your emotional side and you have your intelligent side, and the principle of the separation of powers of the heart and the head is just as useful as the separation of the church and the state.
I have it on good authority that Madonna is a very poor singer. She is however a brilliant dancer and a great performer. Her songwriting is hit and miss.
It's also true that Madonna's actions are calculated to generate publicity. Nobody would suck face with Britney Spears without having a very large monetary incentive. In this case, I think Madge's words were misconstrued.

The culture of knocking Christians has been going on here forever. Nobody ever does anything about it. If you do it to other religions though here people want to hang you.
What a fair society we have.-
carlgalloway steps up to the plate with the bases loaded...her's the pitch...(crack) it's a long fly ball to center, it could be, it's gotta chance...IT'S OUTTA HERE!!!!! Homerun.
As a recovering Catholic, I guess I can say I am neither offended by Madonna, or couldn't care less if the CEO of the wealthiest company in the World is offended.

[I am a Catholic, and I was Offended. She should apologize.]
No. If you're offended, too bad. If the Church is offended, too bad. No laws were broken, so she owes nobody an apology. I mean, hell, I've never had a song dedicated to me. Why would I be offended if someone dedicated a song to me? Even if it was the Lumberjack Song from Monty Python, I'd still feel honored.
You should be grateful for the dedication. Two reasons for this assertion:
1. If you say it with enough apathy in your voice, she'll realize that you don't care.
2. Because you just had a song by a famous... well, there's no way to nice up the phrase "physical manifestation of all things vain," is there? -
i'm not catholic, and i view the pope as no more important than any other man.
i'm not a Madonna fan and i think she gets off by rocking any boat she can. she likes to cause controversy.
that said, i think they both have more important things to do than worry about an apology. so what if she dedicated the song. some people get offended way too easily. -
Virginity can be cured, if detected early.
I think the pope needs to apologise to Madonna for not being Italian. -

The most important thing about this thread...is the blog author STEALS content for their blog. See PetLvr's comments above.

Wait, Did someone just bump his own month old topic about something that is meh to begin with?
Anyway, I guess I'll jump into the topics then.
Shes an old skinny plastic cow who changes her faith and ways every year like we change our clothes everyday, Taking offense to her is like taking offense that a 750 pound man called you fat.
Now as for the religion, Stop telling me to go to hell, It's not nice.
