Does Norton Internet Security Bug You?

I use Norton Internet Security to prevent any computer related catastrophies. It proves to be a powerful worm, popup blocker.
But lately, it has been getting on my nerves. Especially, the service named 'ccproxysvc' is frustrating me. Whenever I try to upload any template or if I make any major changes to the blog designs, this service swings into action and temporarily stops any network communication until it has checked everything.
What I usually do is stop this service, disable Norton IS, and then restart the service. If this service is terminated, any communication is blocked, hence the restart.
Does anyone here face this problem? Please let me know and tell me the solution if you know one........

First thing I do on all Windows machines that come into our company is remove ANY preinstalled Norton/Symantec products and install Windows Defender ( www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software ) and Avast! ( www.avast.com ) and I use the built in MS Firewall so I don't have to worry about interactions among software. Also, Avast! being free for home use is a big benefit, along with its tiny resource footprint and simple interface.

I used to have Norton on my former laptop, never had any issues with it, but that was before I started blogging. Currently I'm using PCcillin by Trendmicro which so far has done a great job in keeping my laptop free of viruses and trojans and what not. I also have McAfee on my other laptop, now that sucks...never seen a program take that long for a simple virus sweep...

actually, I have no complains with the functioning of Norton AntiVirus, but the Internet Security just gets on your nerves.....the rest is fine.....others, like trendmicro, avg, kaspersky, etc don't give you much security...note that I did not mention McAfee.......I think McAfee is Norton's big brother!!

Antivirus software, what's that? Ohhhh you use Windows! No matter what you are using, there is always something out there to break in. You should enjoy your computing experience and purchase a Mac. But if you must stay with Windows, AVG professional is the way to go. Norton and Mcaffee take up too many resources while AVG is way lighter on the system. Not to mention it finds almost anything.
