Hi everyone,
Quite a few people here at BC are interested in building traffic to their own blogs and I guess some are also interested in getting backlinks by commenting on other blogs so I though it would be kinda nice of me 
to start a thread for people who are interested in promoting their dofollow blog.
A dofollow blog does NOT have the [rel="nofollow"] tag in the link HTML.
If you want to mention your blog as a dofollow blog, then give us your URL and the main topic of your blog so other BC readers can make relevant comments.
I'll start, my blog is dofollow, and I talk about learning Spanish, being an expat in Spain, and SEO, amongst other things.

Just add the comment luv plugin it will do the job for you! You will increase your number of comment at the same time.

If you're using Wordpress, but a lot of BC bloggers are hosted on blogspot and they have to edit their theme HTML so if they haven't done this they won't be passing link love.

Cool. I wish I could use that, it makes reading blogs of my readers so much easier...but it doesn't work with my template for some reason :C -
Except the new version of the plugin which has been out a day or two doesn't carry that notice. Also not every blog using the plugin is a dofollow blog. If you use firefox, I suggest getting one of any number of extensions that will tell you very easily if a blog is dofollow or not.

I have to ask this stupid question LOL. How do I check whether my blog at kitapunya.blogsome.com is a dofollow or nofollow blog? -
Hi shaxx, your blog is not a dofollow blog. If you view the source code of your page, you'll see that the links to commenter's blogs are tagged nofollow. You can change this by installing the plugin mentioned by kiwipulse above, or if you have access to your template code you could remove the nofollow teg.

by default blogspot blog has nofollow for comments.unless special template installed.You can go to Edit HTML , search for nofollow or follow and edit it to dofollow. -
@umesh, shaxx is not using blogspot, his/her blog is a Wordpress 1.5 blog

I have access to the html but I could not locate the no-follow tag. Could you please advise me. FYI, Blogsome uses wordpress template but I think that it has been modified to suit blogsome. Hope you can advice on how to change from no follow to do follow. Thanks and cheers! -

List of dofollow blogs was there in some earlier thread.
One can provide link of that here.-
if it is the list that has been going around forever, then it is old and most of the blogs on either no longer work or are no longer dofollow blogs. You will also find a lot of asses who display the dofollow logo but are not dofollow blogs.
The best way to check if a link/blog is nofollow is to use firefox with any number of extensions that check for it. (You can also edit the FF style sheet but this is more or less a PIA)

Sorry to say this Hawaiibadboy, yours don't. You're using a javascript comment feature that doesn't have the commenters link in it at all. It looks like it does, but if you view your source (the way a search engine spider reads a page) you won't find your commenters URL except in the sidebar where you list your top commenters.

Basically, you have to make a conscious decision to remove these tags. None of us add them on purpose.
I've left mine in, so please don't visit my profile page and blogs, because commenting won't get you a cheap and easy automatic backlink.

Grrr...if I would have known that blogger didn't do backlinks, I never would have started my blog with them. Seems kind of anti-social if you ask me. I did a search for "follow" and "nofollow" in my html code and came up with nothing. Anyone know of any other tricks to make my blog more commenter friendly? I'd like to share the LUV.-
Well, it's not "anti-social", because being able to create your own backlinks by commenting entirely defeats the purpose of Google counting backlinks, so it makes sense that Google would prefer that blog comments be "nofollow"
However, you can remove the nofollow tags. When you go in to "edit template", you have to click the "expand widgets" box before you can see the code you're looking for.

Update: I tried the plugin. It interfered with other plugins so I removed it. My blogs are NOT do follow blogs.

OK. I just have some couple of blogger friends who said they can't comment on my blog. But some were able to comment so it feels weird. That's why I was asking for help earlier. No wonder I haven't got comments for couple days already. Anyway, I checked my blog and found the nofollow codes I change them to dofollow now.
Would like to install that commentLuv thing but afraid of the mess again. Also I removed my bloglist because of the overlapping text and widgets and stuff in my blog. Ack.
Anyway. Mine is a do follow now. So feel free to drop by (but I hope no spam comments )-
CommentLuv doesn't interfere with the blogs layout or even touch the sidebar. If you run a wordpress blog the best way to keep your blog nofollow is to use the nofollow free plugin

My blog is a personal blog that covers a myriad of topics. I do follow on comments and heavily moderate it to keep it in context. I like to go with extremes at times on controversial topics just to generate responses and see where it leads.

Mine is still nofollow, however, I have had a comment plugger installed on my blog since 2004. It adds a regular link to the end of my post for everyone who comments. The links are plugged on my main page and also on the permalinks... I think this is just as good as "nofollow free".

I am using a Wordpress plugin called, "Nofollow Case by Case".
It simply removes all the nofollows by activating.
If you want to add nofollow tag, you can do so case by case.
