I have three cats and I think every one of them are reincarnated humans. My cats don't pee all over everything.

I hate taking dogs for a walk, or allowing them in the house. They eat everything, they poop constantly and there breath smells bad.

I love cats. They make a much better pet. [smiles]

No joke...I knew this family as a kid and his dad worked for the world bank. On a trip to Egypt they brought back this cat and it could freaking talk. It would say hello, goodbye and the names of the family members...it was totally fudged up.
    2. cookingasshole
      cont...that cat was cool
  2. 1brncowco
Well I've been a lover of cats for 38 yrs. I am a firm believer that cats do have nine lives and they are reincarnated. I wished my cats could talk. That would be so cool.
    1. cookingasshole
one time my mom had to take care of the cat while the family was out of town and no one told her about the talking and she ran out of the house in a tizzy.

Dogs rock. I saw a tee shirt that said "Dogs have masters. Cats have staff." TRUE. LOL I grew up with a cat, and he was funy and affectionate, but I don't like cats as a rule. I despise litter boxes, and they are usually NOT affectionate, unlike dogs, who give unconditional love and affection if you are just nice to them. I adore my dog, even though she has serious medical issues. If she were not so frail I'd like several dogs. They are the best.
    1. cookingasshole
I know what you mean. One of my dogs had to have ACL surgery...not cheap
    2. 1brncowco
I have that saying hanging on my wall. But mine says, "Dogs have owners and Cats have staff."

All my cats are rescued animals too.

Our first cat was so spoiled that we would actually move his food dish around where ever he was laying so it would be close to him. We started doing this when we first got him because he wasn't eating and we were very concerned but even after he started eating, I think he expected the service to continue so it did!

Once I am out of the city and have more room and am not going to traveling a lot....I would love either a wolf/husky cross or husky.

I've not had cats in years. But all the neighbors cats come into my yard and poop (can we say "poop" here?? LOL!!) because we are the only yard without a big dog to chase them off. I dislike them doing this as my yard turns into a litter box and stinks. And they tear up the garden and flower beds. We have a wall but they can climb just about anything.

So there you have it. LOL!

See if you can find bags of cedar shavings (I got them from Home Depot). Spread them on the planting beds like mulch and water. Cats hate the smell of the cedar. I had a colony of feral cats take up residence in my yard in California and this got rid of them!
  5. timethief
I like them both. I currently have two dogs and 1 cat. The dogs were puppymill bitches that I rescued and the cat was a feral cat that I tamed.
    1. cookingasshole
nice...all my dogs are from the humane society
    2. cookingasshole
also my neighbor used to have like 45 feral cats hanging around until the humane society came by...everytime I looked out my window I would see at least 15 cats.

It's sad that humans are so irresponsible. They do not neuter the pets they have and many are abusive owners who do not vaccinate their animals or provide adequate food, shelter or veterinary care for them. It's sad whether or not we are speaking of cats or dogs. What I find particularly loathesome is those people who have what they call "outside dogs". Regardless of the weather they are left outside to lead a miserable imprisoned backyard existences minus all companionship that pack animals need to be healthy and happy. They bark and howl because they are miserable and due to the noise they make eventually they are taken to a pound and killed, because they people who had them were the type of people that have no compassion for animals, and should have never owned any.

i have an evil rebellious little f_cker of a cat named rudy... he's a black short hair with a serious attitude, and is one of the biggest a-holes i know!

he doesn't pee on things, but he does:
    ---------------------------------------
    - attack me when i'm sleeping
    - assault my daughters toys
    - rip up our carpets mockingly
    - scale our screen doors and windows
    - drink out of our toilets
    - cut me off down the stairs, almost throwing me to an untimely death
    - walk all over our nice vehicles, leaving paw prints everywhere
    - kill our fish by knocking down the tank & then batting it around like a rag doll... a very torturous death.

i'm sure dogs are much nicer than my cat. in fact other cats are probably nicer than my cat... but i gotta say, as much as he's a little f_cker... i kinda respect the little jerk! in fact, i think i love him more for being the way he is!

I'm a horse lover too and I'm weeping. Molly's is both a terrible and wonderful story.

Ha ha ha!!! Oh man... That cat makes mine look like a sweet little kitty!

If I owned that cat I think I'd also own a harpoon gun!
  8. kat822
I have two wolves that I tamed and are now the family pets and also a domestic cat that I trained to go back to the wild.

    TOoooooooooooooo funny jeunelle
  9. ArsenicCookies
I am dog person. I cannot stand cats though, deathly allergic and they always seem to come up to me for some reason.
  10. mylotnovice
I love animals though I have none because I have no garden and I fear not to be able to care as much as they would deserve. I prefer dogs to cats, they seem closer to understand humans.

Now sometimes, I feel we do care more about animal lifes than human lifes. We spend more for dog or cat foods than for human foods in 3rd world countries.

I like both cats and dogs but since no one is home through the day and cats are easier to take care of and require less attention, we have two nice cats--Spunky Doodle and Manny. Both blog at karen.pnn.com.
  13. Achyut
I like cats but as pets, I prefer dogs.
  14. Floormodel
I have cats right now but really miss having a dog.
  15. idealpinkrose
I have a dog so I prefer dogs. Cats climb anywhere so you can't leave food on the table.
  16. Stillthinking
    I love both!

I have one cat who is a cuddly little bundle of furry love most of the time. She uses her litter box perfectly, wipes her little paws on the mat I gave her, snuggles up with me at night, runs to the door to greet me, doesn't jump up on furniture or counters (except the sofa and the bed, which in reality don't belong to me, they belong to her), and in general is the best cat I have ever adopted 98% of the time. The other 2% of the time, she a little biting, clawing demon cat out to draw blood.

I love dogs too, but my building doesn't allow them. In fact, most apartment buildings do not allow dogs except for the really gross ones. I tried looking for a building that allowed dogs last year and was so disturbed at how run down, smelly, and overall disgusting they were.
  17. LynneaUrania
I love both cats and dogs. Dogs kiss more sincerely than most humans I've met. And when a kitty kisses you, you know something special has happened.
    1. Stillthinking
My cat doesn't give kisses. She occasionally tries to groom me, but gives up when her tongue doesn't meet fur.

What she does do (which is very sweet) is nose bump and nuzzle.
    2. LynneaUrania
That's the way kitty cats kiss.
  18. cookingasshole
It seems like in many cases the living situation determines the animal...interesting.
  19. SweetViolet
I like both, and although I actually prefer cats, my allergies have gotten so bad that I can't have them or even dogs that shed.

So, I have Maltese and a Yorkie, which don't shed, and a Foxy who does shed so she can't come into the house. All except the Yorkie are rescues and the Maltese are indoor/outdoor dogs, depending on the weather. There is a carpeted room off the garage that is open 24/7 for the dogs, so there is always a sheltered place for them.

So, I prefer cats, even though I have four dogs.
  20. joannechan
I like both of them =) But, personally I prefer cats ~
  21. Jaybetee
I am undecided. Love dogs. Love cats. They both have their good points....can't decide. If I was forved to choose one.....uh...can't do it. ca't they come up with a cat/dog clone...a cadog.
    1. cookingasshole
best answer yet...I wonder if anyone has tried that yet? hrmmm...might be a project for today

My wife, Kat, and I have two male cats, Figgy and Kick. It is funny but when I meet people who own dogs and they see me get down eye to eye with the dog and how I treat them always ask, "So you own a dog!"?

I am a cat man but I can make friends with almost any dog. One time I went to a guys house to pick up an instrument he had rented and while he was getting it he left me and his dog alone. When he came back into the room he gasped, "what are you doing?" "My dog is a trained attack dog." The dog and I were down on the floor having a great time until we both realized he was an attack dog. Funny how at that moment things changed.

I love dogs but will stay with my two killer cats.
  24. radioflyer1980
I prefer big old dogs, ones that you can sit next to and put your arm around. Dogs seem to be more demonstrative; if I'm paying the Purina Chow bill, I expect some respect and affection, darn it!

I like cats though, especially with a side order of fries.
  25. deoangel
I am a dog lover. In fact, I just posted a blog post called "The Puppy and The People". I am allergic to cats, always have been. My four month beagel, Destiny, is like my little daughter.
  26. intarso
personally, I think dog has a better flavor for stir fry...some onions and peppers and some of those little baby corn things.

Cat goes pretty good with some curry though...you have to get one of the fat cats though, the alley cats are pretty stringy.
  27. faithsju243
I love dogs...unfortunately my apt building doesn't allow them so I have two cats named Benson & Stabler.
  28. GenuineWoman
I love cats! They are so charming and graceful!
  29. NYCGirl
I like both, but I've only had cats. I'm too lazy to walk a dog.
  30. wormcarnevale
cats piss and poop in a box and then people leave it there for a day or two; sometimes more. who wants that?
    1. NYCGirl
      That's the person's fault, not the cat's.
  31. wormcarnevale
regardless; if it sits for 1 hour or 1 day or 1 week. its piss and poop in a box. on a side note you said this yourself 'I'm too lazy to walk a dog'...to me that says a lot.
    1. NYCGirl
Which I why I don't have one. If I somehow came into possession of one, I would certainly take care of it.
  32. HeadStones
love both but rather have a dog. But at this time have neather. Can not aford a nother mouth to feed and take to the vet.
  33. libertycast1
I like dogs but one is enough for me. Dogs are dependent and I am too busy to properly care for more. So in a sense I guess I might say in favor of cats.
  34. IntoTheAzureSea
Cats love to smell urine.........and they urine on anything that smells like urine....... don't ask me why, its from my own experiences that they just really do.
    1. bloggergirll
i love dogs and have three. then there are the neighorhood cats who everyone has to feed. sometimes they come running to the front door when you're on your way out, all 4! of them, and you feel bad so you go back inside, grab some catfood, and feed them (i feed them on a candle holder bc i don't have a cat bowl!) : )
    2. IntoTheAzureSea
Come to think of it, there are more stray cats than stray dogs around always.
  35. christibroer
Three dogs: one totally Heinz variety (Some sharpei and German shepherd according to the vet), one 12 inch beagle, and one beagle/basset! The howling is great when someone comes to our door!
