Yes for medication. Prescribed by doctors approved by the health department.

drugs take you to another level of consciousness but that's not the point ...any one who takes drugs its good for them(when they are in drugged state) but even good for earth population problem(just kidding) ,,, but not good for those countries where it is made because it evolves a lot of crime there ,forces nice unfortunate people mostly teenagers into drug trafficking involving them indirectly to the underworld and eventually starts demolishing life of people around them and make future even more worst for that country ...maybe my comment is little off topic but there is a lot of possibility that some drug addicts may visit this.. so guys before taking drugs just think about those people . ....

Yes, drugs do take you to another level of consciousness: retardation. If anyone does not want to admit that doing any type of recreational drug makes them mentally retarded, either temporarily, or permanently, based on how often they do the drugs, then they are already mentally retarded.

I've never been interested in drugs. But if I were I wouldn't need any justification.

I didn't justify my over-use of alcohol and marijuana. I just needed it. To try and fill an empty black void within me. It worked - for a time. At least I felt it did. But the void became more like a black hole, consuming more than it was fed. The emptiness became larger and larger - and so did the need. The black hole consumed not only my spirit but begin to feed of my body itself. So much so that 16 months ago I was rushed to an emergency room, near death. (I was told later - days and days later - when my mind began to re-function - that I was within hours of death.)

After 18 days of extreme detox - 12 of those days under 24-hour nurse watch (3 nurses 8 hours each shift seated within 10 foot of my bed, monitoring my vital signs) - I begin to return to "reality" - as ill-defined as it was.

I have been "sober" since - literally a day at a time. The void inside is diminishing. A day at a time. I feel a spirit returning. To which I gave thanks each day. A gift. I am alive.

"How do u justify your use of drugs?"

I get paid for using drugs at work.

No better justification than that. :-)

Egads - what do you do?

OOoh ooh - I just read your pages...

I have a question for you... Ooooh ooh... oooh - wanna answer it?

Background: Fibromyalgia, Neuropathy and RA induced after Riba and INF 2a 6 mos (worst side effects) for HCV - SVR status.

Fibro is extreme - rx'd Percocet 10/325 - but after an opiod scare in the medical profession - went through the gamut of Lyrica, etc - which made my head feel like the world was sideways. Have always had adverse reactions to meds, Valiums make me grumpy, amphetamines make me fall asleep. Was placed on Ultram ER 200 - which was great during my insurance phase.

Want to go back to Percocets based on effectiveness for issues - and COST...

      Went to Trams.

      Here's MY QUESTION...

DO YOU THINK THE CURRENT OPIOD SCARE is based more on Big Company Pharmaceuticals pushing the more expensive products that do not work - and have not gone through test phases? Or do you think that the big companies are controlling what the doctors order?

Or am I just in a small rural town that doesn't know any better?

Heh, heh.. pretty good play on my profession, huh?

"DO YOU THINK THE CURRENT OPIOD SCARE is based more on Big Company Pharmaceuticals pushing the more expensive products that do not work - and have not gone through test phases? Or do you think that the big companies are controlling what the doctors order?"

      1. I'm not sure what opioid scare you're talking about? Do you mean the recent reports of rise in prescription drug abuse? Abusers love that Oxycontin, and abusing it has led to a lot of overdoses. Maybe that's where the scare is coming from.

      2. Do you mean big pharma? I don't think they control what the vast majority of what doctors prescribe. There's always a "few" cases of corruption found in all professions. If anything, insurance companies are probably the ones controlling prescribing habits.

"Or am I just in a small rural town that doesn't know any better?"

Rural towns were the first places reporting the highest levels of overdoses from Oxycontin. I was actually a witness to some of that illegal over-prescribing when I lived in SW Virginia.

I used to use a number of recreational drugs, and still do use the one known as alcohol sometimes, but feel no need to justify my use (except maybe to myself, but that's nobody's business but my own).
