Remember that homemade Halloween costume your mother either took days to prepare or threw together at the last minute? Ridiculous, right? Just how bad was it?
Here's my embarassing costume:
I wore a long prairie dress and an old-fashioned bonnet. My mother then attached two Martian-type antennas made from aluminum foil to the bonnet plus I carried an antique WWII gun.
What was I? A Space Pioneer!

When I was 7 or 8 years old my mother dressed me up as a Dirty Hippie. I'm not sure which Best & Co. clothes she was able to dirty up enough to make me look like a leftist whore, but I remember I carried a protest sign. It said Down With something-or-other. I can't remember what. Man, was she ever prescient!

I was always a cat! Black clothes and furry ears!! I had a friend who went to a halloween party dressed as a box of Daz (washing powder) that his mum had made. Just his head and feet poking out!!

Oh, I wrote a post about all the, um, creative Halloween costumes my mom encouraged me to wear over the years...
You might get a laugh from this:

She was a great seamstress, but there were ALWAYS wardrobe malfunctions.
