What is EMO? I googled it but I don't feel enlightened...

    EMO. it's a scene thing.. image013.mylivepage.com/chunk13/873538/582/emo%20couple6.jpg
they're the kids who have black hair and skinny jeans. this couple isn't the super-depressed/cutting kind, they're just fun scene-kids.

Looks like the current version of goth to me...

Ah, my husband and I are punk, not emo.

Oh, you want ideas for another couple! Well, I mean, are they Emo? DO they have their own clothes and makeup? Will you only provide the backdrop and photography, and perhaps props?

    How old is the couple?

AWESOME!!! they aren't hardcore emo... i think they're trying though. haha. they've got their own clothes'n'stuffs. I'm doing what i can for them, including imagery, props, and ideas. i've got some theme's in mind, but for the posing/awesome cool stuff i need a couple ideas.

Well, what about something ala Sweeney Todd?

Say, set up a picnic like scene, with dreary (but beautiful) clouds, sparsely leaved trees, and some cool lighting (ambient backlighting?), paired with a black or gray blanket, some starkly contrasting clothes (contrasting to the backdrop) with hard lines - maybe striped tights (big bold stripes somewhere, anyway).

If the scene is organic, make their poses mechanical, and vice versa. Don't line them up direct center, either. You need to create some drama, perhaps an open composition.

And don't forget to play with the makeup, and add a splash of color somewhere.

Or, you could do a greyscale photo, and tint certain items with color - and play with your photography lenses, soft versus harsh edges, use Vaseline to create effects, etc...

Edit, you could create the backdrop using a semi-sheer cloth, and paint the clouds and background on it. That will allow you to light it from behind.

it is the current version of goth, except it involves more color and good music. haha.
