Topics: Advertising, business card
For those of you out there who want a bit more traffic check out www.entrecard.com It is a business card widget that allows you to drop your business card off at other peoples blogs.
Every time you drop of a card though you gain a point, with enough points you can get extra advertising on blogs such as www.shoemoney.com
Check out this article about it: www.dnxpert.com/2007/11/21/how-to-get-your-ad-on-shoemoney-for-free-within-...
So if you do sign up drop a card off at my blog ok?

My ads keep selling out, I like the way the price goes up depending on your stats and how many ads you sell.

It is 125x125 ads, when you visit blogs which have a card on you can click near the card to let them know you have visited (it appears in their stats).
You get credits for clicking, you can use these credits to place your card onto someone elses blog by paying with credits, the price varies depending on how many have brought ads from the blogger e.t.c
So if you wanted to advertise on shoemoneys blog you search for his card in the 'campaign' area and click to advertise, shoemoney gets an email about this and can then decide if he will advertise your card or not. -
And your card consist of either a picture, text, or anything like that. And it can be placed pretty much anywhere on their blog, mine is in my left sidebar on the top. I am going to try advertising with one of the smaller places and see if it really helps out or not here in the next couple of days.

So far I am pretty excited about this program. I signed up last night, and I have had 20 visitors from Entrecard just today. The ad space on my page is already filled up for the entire 9 days!
I am having a technical issue with them, but they have been really responsive and are working to fix the issue.
ps: I finally gave up on Blogrush. -
Hi all,
I've been with these since I saw it mentioned here about a week ago,i've had 20 cards dropped to me, it seems to work quite well, at least the idea is pretty good, not really enough blogs there yet but new ones are being added daily, keeping my eye on it. I like it but not sure how well it will do, i'm still waiting for ads to be accepted.

It would be nice if there were more writing and book blogs but I still like the idea of it. I've found a couple of new blogs to subscribe too so that was good.

I am still taking a wait and see approach to this one. I seem to be the only BC member who gets traffic from and still says positive things about Blog Rush. (I tried and deleted two other similar programs that did not work for me.) I have noticed the entre ads on some of the blogs I visit regularly and if it takes off and becomes ubiquitous I suppose I will have to join the crowd. But frankly I am tired of signing up for a new program and filling out forms and adding widgets to my page and I'm not going to do that unless and until it becomes clear that this one is Really going to fly.

It's just a 125 x 125 banner really so it's not like one of those slow down the boat widgets. Sign up was quick and painless. They seem to be on top of things. Blog Rush was a waste totally agree with you. Widget bucks also seems to waste time as well. I have a 125 x 125 on one blog, but that is all.
It is frustrating signing up for all of this things to take up blog space. -
I brought this back in order to avoid using space for a new discussion. I joined and there were 5 requests to approve or decline advertising. So I approved them (they looked appropriate.) So what do I do now? Do the ads just show up on my site? I have the EntreCard widget installed.
I have to say it's a helluva social media tool.Or it appears that way.
Thanks. Kay-
I thought so too.
However, despite the fact that I brought in a lot more traffic, the quality was poor and my bounce rate quadrupled. It seems people just go in for the 'drops' rather than the content - it's how the incentive system works.
After realizing that, I just got rid of the widget altogether. I guess this widget is great for monetizing blogs but for quality subscribers, it doesn't do much.

Ah, I see. Hadn't thought about drive-bys. I visited a few and left comments at each blog.
But do the ads just show up on your blog? Or should I be doing something to put them there?
