Entrecard.com is for sale. I interviewed graham a a while back and it seemed like he had grand plans at the time for EC. Sorry to hear of the sale, but excited for him at the same time. Starting bid is $100 and BIN is set at a little under a million dollars. www.bloggernoob.com/entrecardcom-is-for-sale/27/

What are your thoughts on entercard.com and the sale of this website?

    $100k not $100

I have mixed feelings, that is why I stil have not adopted one yet. One particular discussion - I couldn't find i, tried for the last half and hour --- way back in '07 says google does not favour sezwho and entrecard.

I am quite confused at that point.

Thats a shame. We'll see how it does in the future. This may well be the end of a good traffic exchange.
    1. TonyB
It is unlikely he will sell it.

Graham has some exciting plans for Entrecard. He was disappointed when the VCs decided not to finance Entrecard and in reaction felt like it was best to find someone with a bunch of money to take it over.

My bet is the best times are yet to come for Entrecard and Graham.

tony. if entercard is worth x amount, i wonder how much blogcatalog is worth. you guys working on any vc funding?
  4. DaneMorgan
I would bet there are some value added features he could add to the service and raise capital through membership fees for them.
    1. jforch
Read your comment that entrecard could and should add some value add features. What comes to mind? John
    2. timethief
      @jforch
Did you notice that date on Dane's comment? It's 9/27/08. I clicked his username and this is what I found on his BC Profile page: "Last seen 3 months ago"

If you want to contact him I think visiting his blog and using the contact information will be more effective than trying to reach him this way.

Lovely. I JUST signed up maybe three days ago. Maybe it will be better after the sale...

@PetLvr...How did you find out all this info?
What Database search are you using? ARIN?
    2. bradhart
That is crappy ad revenue for the traffic they get...
    3. offendedblogger
lmao that same site has this to say about offendedblogger.com :

      Website Worth: $33,528.90

      Daily Pageviews: 15,310

      Daily Ads Revenue: $45.93

      ANY TAKERS??!!
    4. bradhart
If you are serious I might know some people who would, but you shouldn't expect more than 10% of the estimated worth.
    5. Jeunelle
Yeah that is pretty crappy ad revenue
    6. offendedblogger
Are you crazy? I AM THE OFFENDED BLOGGER. No one else could do it.
    7. ekim941
Pffft, I know a drunken monkey that could take over your job.

      His name is Carl
    8. offendedblogger
Carl is on my hit list now, I hope you are happy....
    9. ekim941
Great PETA will be coming after both of us now. Me for getting a monkey liquored up and you for putting out a hit on him.

How legit are the cubestat numbers? I just ran one of my sites through it and the numbers are good (but a bit lower) than the entrecard site.

      Website Worth: $60,073.89

      Daily Pageviews: 27,431

      Daily Ads Revenue: $82.29

I may be interested in selling...:)

I found entrecard to be completely useless and of no value. Sure one can artificially inflate their counter, but what's the point of these visitors if they just jump on your page, click your drop button then screw off to elsewhere.
    1. bradhart
I am going to disagree that the traffic is worthless. The EC bounce rate dropped me from PR 4 on a few sites to PR 1 and 0. However I just noticed on our sites running the alexa buttons the result was just the opposite. One site is less than 6 months old and over a 14 day EC campaign dropped their Alexa numbers from 3 million to under 500k. I don't like the PR loss because of EC bounce, but I am intrigued by this new Alexa numbers.
    2. MarMatthias
I've gone from unranked to a PR of 2, plus I pull in 5,000 to 9,000 visitors a month. For me EntreCard is (currently) worth the 4 to 6 hours a day I put into it.
    3. Educationblogs
Maybe it depends on your content niche. EC obviously attracts people with blogs. So blogs that focus on bloggers (make money blogs, traffic blogs, blogger services blogs, etc) would benefit from this type of traffic.

However, if your target audience are consumers (debt consolidation etc), it's probably not going to translate to too many bookmarks and return visitors.
  8. ferry12345
Entrecard doesnt bring targetted visitors to site..
  9. cooper
I used it periodically on the blog I post only monthly. it is not worth 100,000 dollars or even close.

cubestat says I'm worth 25,000, but I somehow doubt that is even close to correct - inflated by 24,000 I think.

I hope it's bought I think a new direction and it could be good.
    1. Anniepooh
LOL If mine said 25,000 I would think it was inflated by 24,997!

Wait! It says $845.34 - inflated, indeed.
  10. mitch972
EC didn't do anything worth while for increasing valid traffic.
  11. wehireu
Entrecard put me back in my traffic use for a while because it did not create readers who took the time to read what I wrote.
    1. bradhart
Any new system has to reward that. I was thinking it wouldn't be difficult to give credit for comments, especially since they are linked with SezWho. They already allegedly give you 25 EC for every blog post you make, but I regularly get stiffed on the amount of credit I should be getting.
    2. Educationblogs
Very very heavy bounce rates. It used to help with Alexa rankings, now Alexa has a bounce filter.
  12. ernestlobo
Entrecard does generate traffic. But mostly unfiltered useless traffic. You get bumped up on the alexa ratings though, if thats a plus.
    1. bradhart
As I just noticed you can get bumped hard in Alexa even if the bounce rate kills PR.
    2. MarMatthias
My Alexa rank went from 16million to just about 100,000.... The EC traffic has also brought many more comment and I don't use SezWho... Can't stand it.
  13. CrotchetyOldMan
Entrecard could make some decent money with some minor changes.
If I were entrecard, I would have my own generator, and target it, and charge a small yearly fee to be listed. Should bring decent income from bloggers who would welcome paying to be listed in the generator. I know I would gladly sign up for it.
  14. bloggernoob
entrecard is not for sale anymore
  15. Educationblogs
Are VCs getting more wary of investing given the current financial crisis in the US' capital markets?
    1. bloggernoob
maybe. the way i see it, we're all gonna die soon anyway. if it isn't the current money crisis with the subprime, it'll be the energy crisis, if not that, it'll be global warming. im thinking that jesus will come in the near future. the world is going to our children's lifetime.
