   People love Eurovision in Australia, even though we have no direct participation. So neighbours get together and have street parties where everyone brings a plate, puts it on a large table and shares in the goodies.
   
   People can also Run A Book i.e bet on the winners. In my suburb, most people came from Russia, Poland, Germany, Ukraine or Israel, or their parents did. So most betting is on the songs from those countries, even if they are ordinary. And some certainly are VERY ordinary songs
   
   I have no idea why all the real votes went to Norway. I personally don't think it was the best song in 2009. But it didn't matter. The goal of the night is to eat well, drink well and have fun.
