I created an account on Etsy a couple of days ago and put some stuff up for sale. There's a blog post about this in my "Life from my point of view" blog. *wink wink*

Do you etsy? What do you think about it? Did you ever sell anything there?

Nope, just some rings, bracelets, necklaces, that kind of stuff.

I've heard a lot of good about Etsy, so I decided to check it out a few days ago. It seems like a great site, especially for people who are into making things (or making anything, really). It was definitely interesting. I do wonder, though - do people sell a lot on there? Or is it more for fun rather than profit?

I have bought some lovely things off Etsy, in fact it is dangerously addictive

I've never sold anything through Etsy, Cafe Press or any number of online art galleries I've belonged to (past or present.) I do sometimes sell things right from my blog (which is the best way, as there are no fees or commissions to pay.)

Cool. How do you accept payments? Do you use paypal or something else?

Well, we "cut the deal" through e-mail, typically. Then, to date, I accept checks or money orders (I make sure everything clears completely before I ship any works, but have never run into any problems.) I've been considering PayPal, but my inventory can change often & quickly, so constantly updating PayPal might be a problem.

Love etsy. I've sold jewellery on there and you can use paypal or go the old fashioned route of cheques. One of the best aspects of etsy is the great community spirit and support from other sellers.

I just checked out your blog, you have some beautiful jewelry!

Did you promote your stuff in any way outside of Etsy? Or was it enough to just put it up for sale there?
