The Irate Dog's Beckybear has come back with another great post!

Have you ever wondered where the Halloween tradition came from? Becky has researched this thoroughly and has come up with ancient traditions that have transformed into the festival we see now.

Check out the post and give her your opinion!: theiratedog.blogspot.com/2009/10/happy-halloween.html

I'm of Celtic derivation so I know that Halloween or Samhain had its beginnings in an ancient, pre-Christian Celtic festival of the dead.

I'm also a person who does NOT celebrate Christian holidays. We celebrate the Spring and Autumn Equinoxes and Summer and Winter Solstices.

BTW you will find that there are many Pagans here at BC, as well as, secular humanists, atheists, members of other religions, and those who ascribe to different philosophies as well.
