No other miracle is known to occur so regularly and so steadily over time. No other miracle is known to occur so regularly and so steadily over time. It happens in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem, the holiest place on earth[2], where Christ was crucified, entombed, and where He finally rose from the dead.

I find this fascinating.
I have only ever seen one similar thing in my life. A friend of ours had something self-ignite in her altar room about 15 years ago and it just burnt and burnt, it kept creating some substance that enabled it to continue burning. She eventually had to move it out of the house because it was too smokey, she moved her altar to the room at the back of the house and had to have a chimney built. I'm not joking.
Weird stuff happens, and I think the most important thing is, it reminds us that the world is not necessarily the way we believe it to be.-
I agree, humans always want everything to be explainable, it takes fear out of it. We see the world through a clouded mirror. What prompted to to post this is that in Eastern Europe News coverage of the Holy Fire is BIG. Everyone has heard of it. But in America it isn't.
Or how about coverage of Haile Selassie's enthronement? I suspect knowing of a Black being an Emperor would be upsetting in the 1950's. It also disturbed a Jewish friend of mine to find out that a country which had been Jewish for 900 years freely abandoned its faith and converted to Christianity. Orthodox Christianity that is.
