I came across this post on www.seonoobs.com a few minutes ago, while many of you more experienced users know most of this stuff alot of our members are new to blogging. Either way this is good stuff to know
Here are a couple of do's and dont's from the article:
Do:
1 Have other sites link to yours (quality, relevant sites).
2 Submit a sitemap using your Google Webmaster Tools account.
3 Submit your site to quality, high authority directories in the appropriate category.
4 Make a site with text links and a clear hierarchy, and make sure every page is reachable by at least one static text link.
5 Create useful, unique, and clearly written content. Relevancy is key.
6 Make sure your TITLE tags and ALT tags are”descriptive and accurate”
Dont's:
1 Don’t have any broken links on your site.
2 Don’t use hidden text or hidden links (people, doing that is soooo 2002, and will get you heavily penalized)
3 Don’t cloak or use “sneaky” redirects.
4 Don’t load pages with keywords or keyphrases. This is spam, and Google knows it.
5 Don’t send automated queries to Google.
6 Don’t create duplicate content. (This will kill your rankings most of the time)
7 Don’t create pages that install bad things (trojan’s, viruses, malware, etc..) - kind of a no brainer anyway.
Anyway those are just a couple of the tips... click through to SEONOOBS.com seonoobs.com/exclusive-google-seo-advice-breaking-news/ for the full article and get the full list.
These are just good practices to get the most out of your blog and really use google effectively to find a larger audience.

This is exclusive? There is ZERO here that is new or "exclusive."
It's mostly good advice, to be sure. Mostly. But, it's not new. -
This site is the best to submit to. I noticed that in my search results, only this site as far as I know always comes up on top. It takes them to probably here where my blog is listed.
I don't see mybloglog getting picked up that often and I have all my blogs listed there. This site gets picked up all the time. -
I have read these before n donot understand some~

You heard it from Google. Now heres one thing... use "Video Marketing", and I prefer you use Google own Youtube to upload your videos. It will get your site indexed in just ... hours.. Honestly.
