    James - what caused the "steam" or mist look coming off of the water?

      That look is cause by long exposure, all water photos that have that smooth air brushed look are done this way.       What Bec is saying is correct. Long exposure is more tricky than most would have thought. A lot of photographers disliked foggy and steamy looking waterflow. It is hard to get it just about right.

      I was doing long exposure water today. I don't usually do it because I typically perfer the raw realism of the instant capture. getting the long exposure right is certainly a pain, it's really easy to blow out all your highlights.

      Yes, I realise that. I believe that blogger is not interested to modify this problem at all. This problem was not that apparent using firefox browser at all.
