Hey Ladies.....

Are you fustrated with those teeny, tiny little knots that form on a single strand of hair? The name is so cute, "Fairy Knots", but the results are not so cute. Here is what I do to fight those dreaded fairy knots!

Nice tips! Thanks for posting. So far, I don't have this problem. I have curly hair myself...well one day it's curly the next it isn't. My hair has a life of it's own.

It seems the longer my hair gets the more it happens. When I have a "bob" I don't have this problem. I wonder if it also has alot to do with it moving back and forth over my shoulders. They are sooooo annoying!

aah I can only imagine! It seems really annoying! My hair is pretty long, mid-back or something. But perhaps it's in the structure of the hair?

Oh now I know! My younger sister as stronger curls and I cut her hair last week. She had this tiny fairy knots!

Great tips, as the mother of curly haired kids, I appreciate them. My son used to have this problem a lot but since I cut his hair short, i only have my daughter to worry about.

    Ayyyyy.

I'm mixed heritage - with unknown factors involved:

English, Irish, Welsh, German, Jewish, Italian, Pawnee and Sioux Indian.

My hair has the texture of African American hair - and is extremely frizzy/curly.

I have FOREVER had the problems of knots, both "fairy" and rats nest. LOL!

I just wish I could find a straightener that didn't destroy my hair as it tried to straighten it... And I've tried a LOT of them... And they NEVER EVER EVER EVER last.

The only thing that is decent about my hair is that I can cut it once a year - and it doesn't matter HOW I cut it - because you will NEVER be able to tell at all that it was cut or where it was cut - because I have a natural fro.

I've done EVERYTHING and tried almost every product out there - and NOTHING seems to work.

    Sigh...

Anyhow - your tips are REALLY good - I read them - and those are EXACTLY the things I do - but I have learned to take a comb into the shower during conditioning time - and I leave the conditioners in a little bit longer... and when I towel dry my hair - I put a dime size drop of conditioner in my hands and smooth it through my hair.

I also use cool water rinse on my hair... So that often helps...

Nice blog tho... Keep it up!
