We are off to a Family reunion today. It is fun but we all almost live in the same county so we see each other more than once a year. How many of yall go to Family Reunions? I think we should have one here for BC. Someone pick a place and we will all bring food and drinks and socialize.

Agreed. Let's make it at the geographic centre of everyone involved...Hawaii!

I was going to say something along the lines of " Is that how often a new baby is born?" But that would be completely out of line. So I refrained myself.

Half of my family has a big party every year on the Sunday before Memorial Day up in the Philly suburbs. My Uncle has been hosting it for years and it always is a kick-ass party. Neighbors, relatives, friends, and even family from the other half attend. Unfortunately, I've been absent for every year but one since I came to Florida. Florida sucks. Don't ever move here unless you want to buy my house.

By family reunions, I am guessing you don't mean just your parents, brothers and sisters, and the grandchildren. You can see them whenever you want.

But to get all the assorted aunts, uncles, first cousins, second cousins and grand nieces/nephews together takes a mammoth amount of planning. My family is equally divided between Australia, Israel and Canada, with a few of the Canadians having moved south into the USA. Once every three years is enough!

An organising committee consists of cousins from all four countries, keeping in close contact by email. Everybody knows in advance where the next reunion will be and how long they have to plan for the trip. So far we have met in Melbourne (twice), Winnipeg (twice), Vancouver, Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, San Francisco and Chicago.

    Amy, have a terrific reunion.
