Anin, you just like the spandex suits and the part where he says, "Oh oh oh." You're such a donkeh.

80s videos were so delightfully goofy... i'll always be glad i was a youngster right when MTV started out. that was awesome era for music films. i liked all of Michael Jackson's and Def Leppard's videos at the time.

here's a fun weird one, LOL... Adam Ant, Goody Two Shoes

Adam Ant is a whole sub-category of goofy videos. My kids make me play Stand and Deliver for them on a regular basis.

~~ I was 5 years old when I saw this video so, people coming out of cartoons was pretty cool for me!

I saw the microwave oven song first but I don't know what it is called!!
    3. legbamel
Hum a few bars and we'll see who can name it first.
    4. cookingasshole
it was the first video MTV ever showed...I think
    5. legbamel
The first video was Video Killed the Radio Star, which sucked but got their point across. Not that I watched the first video or anything. [whistles innocently as a young person would] You may be talking about Money for Nothing, which was a very early favorite on MTV. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ACGUasFWVsI

I totally forgot that one. I am making my 13 year old listen to them. She hates me because so many of them get stuck in her head. I remember when MTV started and they played music videos on late night tv from a station out of atlanta.

I really love the Cars' "You might think".

Cyndi Lauper also had a few good ones, but "Girls just wanna have fun" is my favourite of hers

And obviously, there was "Thriller". And "Beat it". And I could go on, and on, and on. Great music videos in the 80s.

Well there are probably 1000's of 80's songs that I love, but you asked favorite video. That's hard to say. I'll throw one out as a possibility: Land of Confusion by Genesis. Always thought that was a very cool, cutting edge video back in the day. Still like to see it every now and then. Check out BOTH the video AND the blog: www.youtube.com/watch?v=oepXF2B5NK4

My daughter thinks it is mean that I played it all night the other night. I started it up again tonight and she ran screaming from the room.

I'd like to add that my favorite 80's video to "watch" is -

Either Thomas Dolby's "She Blinded Me with Science"...

Or Tom Petty's "Don't Come Around Here No More."

(Though Petty had a bunch of interesting, visually clever videos.)
